GETTING TO KNOW YOU.... SEPTEMBER 2020 …GTKY

Recommended Posts

I've been back in the office for 1 week and 2 days and I'm already fed up with people and ready to go back to working from home. Even though I seem to end up working much longer hours from home.

Inquiry, the 29th of September: Did you know that today is National Coffee Day and did you know that next month’s Quisitioner will be none other than @Crowley ?? Who here thinks these are coincidences?

no and yes.

I ended up needing to run out the door to fill in for someone at work who's car broke down. leading to no coffee.

No, and no, and no.

This might be my most negative post on the forums.

No I did not. I did have some Kicking Horse Three Sisters earlier this evening and I am sufficiently caffeinated, though.
There are no coincidences... mind what you say! The Empire has eyes all over this forum.

I absolutely DETEST the smell of coffee. I would seriously rather smell manure than coffee. We used to put coffee grounds in the at work reefers to absorb the funky wet box smell some of them would acquire, but we switched to this bubble gum scented soap. Coffee is the reason I don't shop at Chapters/Indigo. There is a zero tolerance policy on coffee in my car.

As for Crowley, I've as yet formed no opinion.

Aw darn... I missed coffee day?!

I should celebrate tomorrow as the 42th anniversary of my first cup. Wow..yeah. I like coffee.

Did not know... this should be an interesting month.

Have you finalized and closed out your Bones V pledge in the Pledge-Manager yet?

There are only 2 months left; 8 weeks and change; 61 days, …the deadline is December 1st.

Shockingly, yes I have.

I'm usually a "so what time on December 1st does it ACTUALLY lock?"  kind of person, but I went in last week and locked it in.

Right before they added the ghost ship, of course.  But I do not need a 2nd ship.

I do not need a 2nd ship.

I do not need a 2nd ship.

Hopefully I can continue to make will saves until December 1st. :poke:

Well...since I never opened one, closing it has been done. I have never taken part in a kick starter; re, adding YET MORE miniatures to the hoard that I will not live long enough to finish seems a waste.

      Goal

The purpose of this thread is to gather in one place all the visual answers to the oft recurring question, “How big is Reaper miniature __ __ __ __ __ ?”

That question comes up about once a week; but always about different models. This thread is meant to serve as a place for those foolish kind souls who decide to answer in detail with a photograph to post their work.

      Guidelines for such photographs

“...Posed in front of an inch or centimeter grid, and / or with a ruler laid out in front of, above, or behind them, and / or next to other Miniatures for comparison...” Comparison pics are the most useful because the numerical height of a model doesn't always tell you how bulky it is, or how exaggerated the features might be. Common objects like paint dropper bottles, figure bases, and specific Miniatures like Sir Forscale (76543) can acquaint the viewer with size of a new Mini, especially while standing on a grid. The best comparison shots are like police line-ups: several miniatures side-by-side in front of an easily-read scale.

@Pingo @redambrosia and @lowlylowlycook contributed most of the wording in the preceding paragraph (which I edited a bit).

Happy New Year and welcome to Getting to Know You, January 2021 Edition!

The rules as they currently stand (in addition to all regular forum rules):

      1. Every day, or so (unless I am out or ill or something) I will post a question.
1.5. Should I be unable to post a question for the day a crack team of deputy quisitors, former quisitors, and random forum members are all chomping at the bit to step in and post one...
      2. In theory there is a 24 hour span to answer that question before the next question is posted.
2.5. (Rule 2 is the most frequently ignored rule.)
      3. Questions are going to be posted sometime before 10:30am Eastern US Daylight time.
      4. Everyone is encouraged to suggest future questions to be posted via PM to me...
      5. You do not have to answer every question to play...
      6. If a question is TMI or N/A simply wait for the next question.. ..or post that you decline to answer (clues regarding why can be fun...unless TMI).
      7. Weekend questions may take the form of two or three day quests, starting on Friday or Saturday.

Thank you all for playing along as we get to know the real you... tell me, Malcolm Reynolds, are you familiar with the works of Shan Yu?

The first question shall be posted after a brief pause to prevent the merging of posts.
