MARTHRANGUL, GREAT DRAGON

Finished up MARTHRANGUL, GREAT DRAGON. He is the old school pewter version. I started him like 8 years ago, or so, but hated the paint job. So I decided to show how I worked through fixing the painting and basing on my twitch. He weighs about 2.5 lbs.

I like how the purple pattern looks on his wings. The basing really fits the paint job,

It's a great piece, but I really like the horns coming out of the head; they look very realistic.

I know this model.  I always thought the scales were awesome for picking out with highlighting, and you've shown that excellently.  But you also surprised me on what I thought was the weakness of the model... the spine ridge.  I just didn't see a way to paint it that wouldn't detract from the overall look.  But... bright contrast color?  Eureka!  You turned it into a feature!

I blame our education system.  It's why we can't have nice things.

He is magnificent - I love the green and purple - really works for this model - really like the composition with the base as well, splendid and inspiring!
