Moderator Chaoswolf Posted March 13, 2021 Moderator Share Posted March 13, 2021 I'm sorry to hear about those who will not be in attendance, I totally understand where you're coming from, though. I've got a room, I'm local so no air travel, and I've got the time off. I just need to get the vaccine between now and then.
Marineal
Room booked, been vaccinated. I seriously cannot wait. Now I will run in circles trying to decide what to paint for the competition, spin my wheels, and decide I hate everything 3 days before the con... 5

My biggest obstacle is I'm on EI. They tend not to approve of people going out of country while you're on it unless there's a very good reason. Sadly, "visiting the factory of my favourite miniatures company" doesn't qualify as essential travel under their definition. Funny part is, with how their wording on the questions is, if one were to hop on a plane after business hours on Friday and be back before Monday you wouldn't have to declare it, but that's skirting around bureaucracy and they like technical bending of the rules even less so.

The good news is that it does sound like there will be some form of online participation available, from what I've heard. What it will look like, and what platform it will be on, I couldn't say. vutpakdi
I expect that all adults who want the vaccine will be able to get it by the end of July. Unfortunately, part of the reason for that availability will be the number of people who won’t want the vaccine. I’ve got my room booked.
Harrek
Changes from contractor to civilian employee In the DoD and resulting reset of banked time off makes my attendance this year a no-go. Members SamuraiJack
I'm hoping I get hired on full time in July so I at least won't have to both spend the money on the hotel AND not get paid for Thursday and Friday..

There's a ton of stuff to see and do in the Dallas area if she's so inclined. She won't be the only spouse not gaming or painting. A number of attendees go to games or classes and join their partner in the evening for dinner or some other activity outside the con. If she's totally against the idea no matter what, I'm sorry.
