Stubbdog
I figure that everyone has their a favorite section of units that they like to try and take to battle with them, if the Point spread will allow it. Just curious, and wanted to hear a few of yours out there... Not imaginary sections if points were unlimited and all that, I mean be realistic, in your games (assuming here that everyone plays 3000-5000-10000 point battles) what section do you find yourself using together often cause it works well as a group. Spartan6
One of my homegrown Firebirds, two Starhawk VI's and a Rhino; All maxed with Ace/Ace and TL upgrades. A Firebird is a Sovereign III with the DFM's pulled off and PAK-7 PBG's put on. The IFM is changed to the same one from the Conqueror. inkw large or something. I can see where Frosch's would rock though.
Leech
Four Manti with ECM and TL swaps to be +4 and if points allow, an armour upgrade.
NymMoondown
My 5000 point army is a section of 4 supped up mastodons and a section with a supped up panther and heavy mortor troops.
Super Jag
Just under 2,000 points (lot's of laughs fun): 4 Khans, ace/ace crew, +1 armor, +1 repair, +2 movement. Just under 1,750 points (Warmaster fun): Bug Squad: Emperor Beetle (different variants but basically has a combination of Ogre guns and/or Emperor guns); Mantis, +1 armor, +2 pilot, Bergholm 22 breeder; Scorpion, +1 armor or pilot; Spider, M34 Target Lock, +1 WSO. Combined Arms games: Titan (Rhino minus both DFM's in favor of a Blitz's IFM); Sovereign; Butcher; Sultan. Any possible upgrades leftover points will allow (particularly a chain lock). Air Superiority: 2 Tsuiseki's and 2 Kharls. Respectively, drop the PBG and Heavy DFM in favor of upgrades like armor.

Jeremy
I have one that I would love to ty out. Thunderbird Sov III Sov III Sov III Throw a Chainlock pod in there somewhere and watch people run like crazy!!
Storminator
I just used Sov III + chain Outlaw Outlaw Outlaw and really liked it. I need to pick up a T-bird to replace the Sov III, and I think that section will be great. As it was, I had to scatter like mice when the Hawk VI came running up. Had no DF to stand up to it. Jeremy
That sounds like a nasty section to me. Yeah I can see how the lack of DF could cause a problem for you. The T-Bird will solve that problem nicely though. Two +10(with TL) can be a scary thing.
Spartan6
I recently designed a Warmaster legal section that had a chainlock pod and three Imkw Large IFM's in it. It took second in the local Warmaster and the player I gave it too never even used the CL pod. And it's made from the CAV's in the starter set
KAMUT
A typical UTDF CAV point superiority section Starhawk VI - ARM and pilot upgrade Starhawk V -Redhawk Charlie/Pheonix variant (armed with 2 diedre mark ones) Starhawk V -Redhawk Charlie/Pheonix variant (armed with 2 diedre mark ones) Starhawk V - Redhawk Alpha - modified TL and Breeder usually designated as a troop command section A typical UTDF Flank Superiority CAV Section Regent -Samurai variant (armed with 2 MT96A) Starhawk V -Redhawk Bravo variant (armed with one Deidre Mark one) Starhawk V -Redhawk Bravo variant (armed with one Deidre Mark one) Regent - Strike Regent variant - modified TL and Breeder usually 2 sections like this for each point superiority section A typical UTDF fire support CAV section Raptor - Strike Raptor variant - modified TL, breeder, and ECM Katana - Wakizashi variant - both Missiles swapped for 2 MT64L IFM Katana - Wakizashi variant - both Missiles swapped for 2 MT64L IFM Katana - Wakizashi variant - both Missiles swapped for 2 MT64L IFM can you say 7 IFMs (+4 soft, at 48 inch range, 4 AOE) chained in at a +4, usually the commander is the elite level WSO in the Raptor........... The Hummingbird and the flower petal, if you can understand this metaphor, then you understand how we use these sections................
