Ratmaster2000
The one suggestion I didn't leave in the form, which not only applies to the con but here as well, is to post information in the forums as well as the other media sites. I do not check twitter AT ALL, and facebook is not the most reliable (most messages I do not see till days later). I come here because I do not need to wade through other information that pops up on twitter or facebook, just REAPER information. And it's organized into sections, so that is helpful. 3
Highlander
You make a good point. I observe that the diffusion of "official" Reaper information is not limited to RC, but is evident in a number of high interest topics. I also don't use Twitter or Instagram, and don't use Facebook often. HST, I though Discord was a good venue for providing good info quickly. I'm not so fond of the format, but I did like the efficiency. P.S. I could slap myself upside the head. I submitted my official comments form, but I forgot this: A vRC allowed folks from all over the world and folks who can't afford the time or money to attend in person -- to attend a Reaper event where they could participate as fully as everyone else. That's a big positive. Edited September 11, 2020 by Highlander
Svetgar
That form needs some serious editing to get useful feedback. Some examples: Quote Which Faction/Crew did you represent? I didn't even know that there were factions, much less that you could represent one, whatever that means. Also: Quote How much did you like Warhorn as an application platform for ReaperCon Live? Well I didn't use it, so what am I supposed to check off? And it is a required submission so whatever I put there will skew the data and produce misleading results. Same thing with the question about the exhibitors. I didn't even know there was an exhibitor hall. Overall Reapercon Live was an excellent fun time; I did the zoom workshops that interested me. I don't have enough ADHD to be able to keep up with the discord, twitch, classes and everything else that was going on at the same time.

Factions are just a fun thing that lets us poke fun at each other and have a little (friendly!) competition. IIRC, in person, the members of the winning faction get to sign a book? I'unno; this year the top-ten point earners for a given faction get a goody. Mostly, it's for fun, and if you happen to be into cosplay, it can also give you a starting point for a costume. I heard - I am not sure if this is true - that there's a PDF planned with information about Brinewind (the setting) and that's where the factions came from. There was a hardcopy version in one of the boxes; and while reading it did not change my mind about repping Stormchasers, it did shed some light on the other three. ^^;
Moderator OneBoot Posted September 12, 2020 Moderator Share Posted September 12, 2020 I got this idea from a friend of mine: have a (naming?) system in place for the teachers, so that maybe newer teachers or those less experienced with painting are called "student teachers", those that are more experienced are called "teachers" and the most experienced are called "professors." It IS called 'Reaper University' after all. This would greatly help with both my comfort level as a teacher (my students aren't expecting professor-level skills when I'm only a student teacher, for example), and my expectations as a student. I'm not sure what the best division would be, whether years taught at Reaper or which medals they've won at ReaperCon or equivalent, etc. Huzzah! --OneBoot :D
