Added three levels of highlight to the faces and I'm not sure they look much different here. Might be a bit too subtle, I'm often too cautious with contrast.

Not 100% sure about the brown dirt here, I think it'll break up the grey a bit but I'm not 100% sure that's what I want. I'm going to splash it onto the mountain diorama and see what I think of the overall look.

Cliff face work in progress. I think a lot has been done since I last showed a picture of this!

Left hand picture is after adding in the brown dirt colour, it's fairly unobtrusive with the unifying grey-brown drybrushing over the top of it.

Right hand picture is with some bare trees and non-giant critters added. There are six live animals in total, can you spot them in this picture?

Next step is to break out the tufts and clumps and lichen and add some more plant life and colour to the scene.

Looking good!

I can see 5 out of 6 critters for sure, and have a good guess about #6.

If you think you can see one near the middle, then you probably can... 😉

I think this is pretty much finished! I could go on adding plants forever without substantially changing anything, so I've stopped. I will go over it and touch up a few flaws and gaps, and I might paint the outside "cut off" edges in black to tidy it off.

Quite hard to photograph because of the size and depth of it, lots of shadows. If you'd like to see any particular detail in close up let me know!

Hello everyone, I'm currently working on an Ogre gang and completed the painting on this model last night. This is a 77455, Ogre Smasher sculpted by Bobby Jackson. I swapped the top of its club with that of the 77454, Ogre Clubber. I also added three more skulls at his waist belt. it was all painted with Reaper MSP paint. I will complete the base later since I may add more elements to it.

Just a random assortment of the first painted from Bones V.  I sort of cheated...my Kickstarter arrived yesterday but I borrowed these in advance from a friend who got theirs earlier.

Finally got around to painting some Bones sci-fi... painting the flat panel armor was a new thing for me. Used a mix of Reaper, Vallejo, and Contrast Paint, and some washes here and there..

It feels like an age since I last posted a terrain build, my last build journal (still unfinished) was actually in October of last year, so it has been a while!

Anyhow, my circumstances have changed and I have found myself with more free time to enjoy my hobby, and so this week I was able to sit down and start a new build, another photo backdrop, this time a cemetery (sorry no build journal this time, I just wanted to enjoy the project).  This one had been on my to do list for ever, the gravestones, coffin and the wall are all Reaper accessories.  I had a lot of fun with this one.

On another positive note, I've now got some time to go back and revisit my 'Post Apocalyptic Suburbia' build journal.  I'm sure  many people don't even remember it, but leaving it unfinished has really been bugging me, so hopefully that one will have a much overdue update by the weekend!

I decided because I have a bunch of grass boards, that I should do some backdrops for nice dioramas and maybe just regular photos. So I primed (mostly matte medium which I have liters of and a little primer and a tiny bit of craft paint for volume) some of my many cereal boxes.
Should I do anything more than sky and land/horizon? Tree silhouettes maybe? Got any good examples
