Alright you got me. Now convince me of the $40 pledge vs the $110. Lol

The reason I’m doing the $110 level is because for each of the three sets that you’d choose, there are associated free add-ons for each one; the everyone gets them add-ons notwithstanding.

Which sets are you thinking (and how heavy did you go on DF trees)? Also, do you have other trees from Monster Factory (or elsewhere)? Just trying to get an idea what others are thinking.

Wow. That is lots of trees.

It's 15 sets each, which can be trees or other things.  It gives a lot of flexibility between winter, green, or blighted versions, and I can get compliments to my trees from their first KS as well.  It just was a well-rounded option and the painted stretch goals pushed us over the top to combine our pledges.

I ended up backing this at the $180 level (plus a bit more, for planned add-on purchases).

They also had a nice bundle going on in their retail site during the KS. A three-pack of terrain sets from their first KS (1 stony hills, one broken ground, 1 tree set [green foliage]) for $100 (normal retail $40 per set), plus they had free US shipping at $100 spent. The bundle is no longer listed in the site, but at last check (yesterday) the free shipping deal was still up. Getting it was a bit of an impulse purchase, but whatever, it’s here now.

I plan to get frosted ice hills and broken ground ice boulders from this new KS, since I can’t make transparent ice hills from XPS foam. Also one or two sets of green (non-snowy) pine trees.

I was planning to get a full set of the fallen pines (note the free one with every shipment is half as many pieces, and generally unpainted), so I could have lots of fallen tree terrain, but someone on another message board reminded me there is a whole world of free sticks outside... Some care in choosing the right type of stick should keep it from shedding on my game table, etc. Could also coat them in Mod Podge.

So, yeah, mostly going for stuff I couldn’t replicate well on my own (transparent terrain, and trees that don’t shed flock all over my table).

Next thing we know, you'll tell me rocks are free too.  ;)

My issue with just normal sticks is the immersion factor.  If the rest of my terrain were also real materials based, then it would work, but mixing the real sticks in with fake trees just makes the stick look like well, a stick, in stead of a fallen tree.  Some may not care, but it's an issue for me.  If I wanted to go cheap, I'd just 3D print a fallen tree.  But I'm not a fan of painting if I can help it.

Real rocks are more likely to scratch my vinyl game mat, and mar my wooden floor when one of my players inevitably drops one. And rocks the size of the large hill are too heavy for ease of use, and aren’t flat on the bottom.

I haven’t fully made my mind up yet, but I am leaning toward more standing trees.

Got a pledge manager invite.

Will see what options exist when I can check it out. Looking at fallen trees maybe some tree sets. If old canopies can be had would consider a set.Don't know about ice hills.

well If I get unpainted  fallen trees, regular trees, and pine trees that's 80$+26 shipping. Gives me a reasonable plastic forest. A mat doesn't add much in shipping, I guess because I'm not getting a ton. So I'll have to think about whether I want the ice mat for Frostgrave. I wanted seals and they're more than half the cost if I get them separately.
