The Miner, from Antediluvian--a SPACEFUTURE worker

Yet a third, and thus far final, spacefuture character from Antediluvian Miniatures. He is billed as a bounty hunter and comes with two pauldron-mounted plasma cannons, but I wanted more of a blue-collar look. The industrial armor suit with its huge digging claw is amazing. The Miner is dwarf-sized, likely from a high-gravity world. 

 

It's a tough life, prospecting for minerals in the asteroid belt.

Especially when the ore vats start acting up.

 

BUT! once in a great while you strike paydirt.

 

And with the credits from a haul like that, even after the Protectorate takes its cut, you're set for a Martian year of good times! Oh yeah, it's animal protein and Ganymedean moonwine from here on out! And the FLAVORED nutrient paste, every day!

 

 

Success breeds envy, though...keep that exosuit on.

 

 

Featuring guest appearances from Crosswire (50018), the robot from Briony, Cybertechnician (50064), some Mantic mining terrain, the previously posted Buckland Rogers, and some Hydra Galacteers, as well as Reaper's shipping crates, soda machines, and starship generator. The rusty shed is corrugated cardstock; the bar is mostly a repurposed toy-car blister pack with some wire and gewgaws, plus the Starship Door. 

 

This guy and Crosswire really would make a good pair of recurring bounty hunters/mercenaries/roughneck profiteers now that I think of it. The physical contrasts really sell them as a classic set of Those Two Guys.

Love the setting and the story.

 

You do realize the poor guy will probably spend his credits faster than expected?

It's a well known secret that the Protectorate runs the underground clubs.

I'm pretty certain some well build proletarian sister will find a way to relieve him of his credits so he will go back to work sooner than he intented,

We can't have the workers getting too comfortable, they might get used to it!

Thank you! I enjoyed making those neon signs. Took more wire than I had thought though!

Thank you! Yes, the company store is a dismal reality even in the distant spacefuture. Nickel and dime you every step of the way. No one even stops to ask "why isn't ALL the nutrient paste flavored?"

According to Tred over in accounting, "Have you seen the cost to import artificial flavorings from off world? Every gram coming into the belt costs us money."

Apparently the bulk of the nutrient paste is made right in the belt with every bit of organic material they can scrape up. Tred was going to tell me what all that entailed, but I decided I'd rather not know when he started reaching for the sanitation budget files.
