Calling these a success. The infantry is a bit crude but at 7.5mm tall I can live with them. Getting close to finishing printing a 6mm or 1/285 Brigade with divisional support for the 2nd Canadian Infantry Division in Normandy the summer of 1945.

Brigade as of a few hours ago. Already have more infantry and 25 pounders printed.

All the fully painted minis. A Forward Air Controller radar truck, HQ radio truck with officers, sniper team and 17 pounder antitank cannon.

I'll post a pic later but, how can a success be a fail (sorta). I printed up Vesra or whatever name is orc shaman from Artisan Guild over the weekend & I almost as I pulled the plate out to clean the mini, I noticed she was huge compared to standard figure. I'm pretty sure she is 32 or higher in scale but her stance is of Tre Manor fame. Way to wide for a 25mm but fits a 32 base. The 32 base is a problem on 1 inch squares (at least for me). She did print out great, she just a husky girl. Think Russian female Olympic wrestler size. ^_^

Probably a good thing I didn't remove a prepainted figure that is suppose to be her I ordered over the weekend....

That's a nice spider!!!

Thanks! It did come out nice. Supports kinda came out in odd place (under the legs, but they were angled & were easy to pull off once I cut one end loose.

I wish I could say the same about the Epic Mtn Troll. Came home from a trip over to Nampa this afternoon & the printer was still going (6 1/2 hr print job) & all that was on the plate was a couple of stubby support posts....sigh. Glad I have at least the rest of the minis done for this weekend's game. Gotta rummage through the minis to find an appropriate looking troll thou.

A few prints I've done lately

16130542656924884700328809174745.jpg

Shadowdancer by (insert name here....). Note the piece on the chain, it's a support piece that I clipped on the 1st attempt that cut the chain in half. I didn't want to make that mistake twice so I clipped it as close as I could. I may try & clean it up, but hey I've got a chain wielding elf mini for Saturday, I'm good with that.

(female dwarf shieldwarden by Artisan Guild). Note the shield failed (part of multi piece print with the sword). Overall it came out ok & this was suppose to be a ghost, so the damage on the shield could have been sustained when she was alive. The gooky shield did lead me to print out the next mini.

Something the Proud female dwarf by Miniatures of Madness (ie the Hold my dwarf KS guys)

This came out nice, but OMG, the pre-supports were a nightmare for a smaller compact piece. Both her feet with circled with supports resulting in a almost solid connection. I had to cut through halfway with my strong nippers & then notch it with a exacto at her feet just to pry them off. I do like their stuff so I may order anther figure & try my own hand at supports & see what comes about. This is the mini that will represent a former clan leader ghost that the party will meet this Saturday.

Rocket Pig (I can't recall what it was called)

Had a bit of a problem removing a support on his fingers as it was close to the piece & became part of the figure..grrr. It was the last part I removed so I really didn't want to toss the mini on the account of a missing finger. Either way, this guy will show up this Saturday as a Deathlock Mastermind in the final battle. Nice to see this was a large size figure that I scaled down to medium base. I'm happy, no very happy with that.

16130544041994132164079249204654.jpg

I can't recall the name of this one, but it was from a Kickstarter a few years ago with giants of legend & each had a theme. One of was Beowulf & Grendel, etc etc. What nice about this one it was my first experiment in minimal supports. Since the piece was straight up & down, all I did was use heavy support on the bottom. Piece is hollowed but solid nonetheless (funny how a support went up all the way to the top through that hole). This will fit a large base perfectly & will be used in the next adventure in the final battle vs a shadow black dragon!!

16130544564716831749110286793491.jpg

Finally, a guard drake by Miguel Zvedza (spelling). I really didn't want to pay the price for aftermarket prepainted of this creature (20s to 30s...ouch) & I need 5 of them. I initally was going to use Epic's landshark but those are sized for large bases & their poses don't lend to shrinking to a medium base. Cue MZ to the rescue!! This will represent a black guard drake even thou the head doesn't look like a black dragon. MZ bases his sculpts on the official 5e monster artwork & best of all they are free!! In 5e these are basically "dragon dogs" & it fits a medium size base perfectly!!

Currently printing up a Orc Claw of Luthic, as I can't find the one I purchased recently & the one I bought awhile ago is MIA as well. Thank goodness for the printer! Looking at these pics, I know I need to refine the sharpness of my prints but right now I'm just happy it's printing up stuff for my games! Refinement can happen later!

Make the gooky shield a glowing molten red/orange - dragonfire will do that....

Give the ghost a shield bash that does Fire damage.

They won't fight her or they shouldn't as they'll have a different clan of dwarf with them, but a dwarf nonetheless. PCs will be PCs thou.

Still works, glowing smoking ghost shield!

Oh she'll attack them, more or less the whole "What the hell are you doing here, bla bla"  (she is in a family burial crypt) & see if the PCs go after her or not. In a way I wish I would have went with a axe or hammer hand option. Swords & dwarves are just not my thing.

I'm really happy with how she came out except she is very small.  Her little minions are so tiny that I ripped them apart trying to remove the supports.  I already cranked up the scale and have the new one printing

Ok printed successfully again but I broke off some of her fingers and destroyed a minions wing.  So they will get reprinted along with the rest of her robes.  But so I dont get bored printing the same thing over and over i am doing a little print of a bunch of mushrooms and bottles.

Are you clipping with nippers or other when removing supports?

Good looking prints!!

@NecroMancer clean the prints in IPA or Methylated alcohol.

Then dip them in warm water.

This will soften the supports.

Use a sharp hobby knife and / or the side cutter, take your time and be careful.

I use a magnifier to make sure I get them all and not mistakenly clipp off a finger.

I have damaged my first prints a lot and sometimes, I still do.

Good luck!
