When it's fresh from the print I first dunk it in methylated alcohol for cleaning.

Then in warm water. The warm water helps to soften the supports making it easier to remove them.

Interesting. Never heard of that before. Mine are soft enough after the alcohol part. Or at least I thought so before 🙂

I suppose the same way you dispose of spilled resin and the alcobol - put it outside in the sun until it's dry and overcured. Then just throw it out. At least, that's how I do it.

Interesting....I'll give that a try the next time I cure a print....

Though I understand why warm water is used to soften the supports (I use Elegoo WW resin exclusively), how are you supposed to dispose of that water ? Since that water can't be poured down any plumbing, do you put it in some container (empty soda bottle, for example), or add it to your existing water wash ?

Like mentioned above, dispose it like the resin, chemical waste.

And I found the supports really soften up after dunking in warm water, ( hot not boiling, that will lead to cracks!!!).

Thing is I usually print more than one mini, so the build plate is full.

When removing supports I'm careful and it can take an hour before I got it all.

Dunking the mini I'm working on in warm water for about 15 seconds really helps, I have to repeat it some times to get it all but I can feel when the supports are getting more difficult to remove.

I am working under a LED day light desk light so to counter curing under my hands this trick helps.

I was wondering why they didn't make my initial cute, because the sculpts do have a lot of personality behind them...  They really do.  But it's all the skulls, for some reason I just don't like skulls all over models.

Check out Manuel Boria & Nova Minis for some great gnolls

Nice start to your 3d printing hobby!

Ooooh, definitely some interesting looking minis in there, to say the least!   Especially the second name...

Papsikle November cyberpunk and not predator2 sculpts provided pre-supported at ~35mm - a bit bigger than I like, but will work for my needs.

Printed on an Anycubic photon S, which has sadly just stopped printing anything other than random vertical layers. 😭

Well, I am finally making the plunge and starting to print the Brachiosaurus Caravan from Lord of the Prints Dinotopia release. Unfortunately, this is as far as I got before I ran out of resin. I have another bottle coming, but it is currently stuck in northwest Washington.20220104_114340.thumb.jpg.b82f84db95daed97cfd6dc8b47607c94.jpg20220104_114331.thumb.jpg.f26a71b1ae6fc6d363b80520b8973cc0.jpg20220104_114218.thumb.jpg.7206048d2b3af4f38fc741d4d0179fe0.jpg

That's fantastic! Definitely on my list to print and paint! I'll probably be doing the body in FDM, though. That's a LOT of resin!
