haldir
I'm gonna call this one a success even those one of the limbs didn't print out right. Thou being a evil tree (blight), it doesn't really look out of place. Print is from Gloomykid miniatures & was presupported. I totally forgot about hollowing this & I did do a my own supports, but I had a feeling with the pre one . Plus at 6 1/2 hrs & I need this for tomorrow, again I'm calling this one a success! Funny fact, I finally got to use the basket for my wash n cure. this thing is big! Fun fact #2, I am now print off probably the fastest print I've tried. It clocks in around 30 to 40 mins. It's a simple baby crocodile (thingiverse croc, I rescaled). This will be for tomorrow as well.
Illithar
So I just realized I hadn't shared the completed Brachiosaurus. I haven't finished painting it yet, I uh... don't really have a desk big enough to accommodate it. I actually broke the spear on the rider while moving around when I primed it. I was able to glue it back on though. I need to reorganize before I can get much further. Also, I think due to some warping at some stage, or stages, the platform on the back doesn't line up right so that's going to take a lot of time and milliput. But here's a further idea of how big it is. And the platform not lining up. Best guess is some small warping here and there that led to this. The platform is level, so I'll just have to fill in the gaps with milliput and some toothpicks. 8

It's in my queue, but I'm so far behind on what I want to print, and can't print at the moment anyway... Would love to be able to get around to doing those dinos, that's for sure! I have an idea for doing a caravan of dinos from this, Mini Monster Mayhem and Dragon Trappers lodge and replacing the humans in this group with dino men (using Reaper and some art from STLs). Maybe I can get to printing them after we move in June.

Maybe I can get to printing them after we move in June. Be warned: despite being hollow, the brachiosaur + base took about 2 liters of resin to print. Oh yeah... the base. It's not exactly bad but it's not great. It's in 8 parts and it actually comes together fairly well. The gaps are not sizable so if you are not like me you can ignore them. However, it is not keyed properly for the dino's feet. There are vague spots for where they would go but it just kind of... sits on it. So I got some milliput and molded it around the feat to give the impression (hah...) of the feet pressing into the ground a bit. It's also a big chunk of the resin cost for printing it, so you could save yourself some money/resin and not print it. The brachiosaur does a decent job of standing on it's own, but if you want some good stability you could probably attach a 2 or 3 inch bases to each of the three feet that touch the ground. If you plan on using it for tabletop gaming this might be the better option to be honest. As an example:

haldir
Despite this being a slight failure. I'm calling it a success. I've printed this guy from Rocketpig Games before with success, so I was kinda surprised to come home from FLGS 5e night , to see it had no right leg. Instead of trashing the print, I decided to drill into the resin before curing & then inserted a piece of wire. Since I won't need the gruesome twosome for awhile, I'll attempt to sculpt the missing leg with greystuff.

Well, that and the lodges from Dragon Trappers Lodge LOL I've seen some fantastic results combining stuff for big prints like this FDM and resin. The lower detail stuff (and bigger pieces) you print in PLA, then the super detailed smaller pieces you print in resin. Saves a lot on the overall costs, as I've printed things not too much smaller than that, like the DTL Stormkite, and only used about 10 dollars in filament. Actually, what I've done for the FDM for things like that base are that when I slice them, I actually put them on the print plate in such a way that all of the pieces are just ever so slightly touching, so that it comes out as one piece instead of multiple. It still has the lines, normally, but no gluing nor worrying about how it's going to go together!
Illithar
BEHOLD! My mess of a workspace! More things printed as I proceed to push the limits of what can actually fit on a Mars 2 Pro's build plate. Both are from Yan_H Wonder Woman Bombshell. This one wasn't too bad, the base was cut perfect to fit on my build plate. Batwoman Bombshell. This one was more tricky. The middle cut there was the one that the sculptor did, the two pieces it gave could not fit on a Mars 2 Pro plate. Sure I could scale it down, but I really wanted to print this to go with Wonder Woman (and Super Girl once I get her printed). So, I looked up a tutorial on how to cut and key STL files. The result wasn't perfect, my keying was way off so I had to file the pegs down to get the parts to fit properly. But, I did finally get the together and the seems aren't terrible. The skirt is optional and in two pieces. They don't come together perfectly, I think they may have warped a bit during printing. But a bit of miliput and filing I think I got it sorted. Still some cleanup to do, but I think it's looking good.
Illithar
Finally got Supergirl printed. This one was a bit of a trial, as there is something I didn't realize until I had printed half of her. All of Yan_H's sculpts are 270mm tall, this includes the base. As Supergirl has a very large base compared to the other two she actually proportionally smaller. Like almost child sized. So I have scaled her up 20%, I compared the heads as my metric and she's in the right ballpark. Her build is lighter than the other two so she's still a bit smaller but not egregiously. I had to chop up the base a bit to print it at this size though. The top part is already cut and keyed by the sculptor, but I had to cut and print the bottom in half to print it (the cut is around the back). She came together good, but I'll have some small seams/gaps to fill at her shoulders and on the base. She's not fully glued together yet, but she stays on the base rather well without it. The attach point is on the back of her left calf. Her head is sticky tacked on here, I'll attach it and her scarf (it's behind the ruler) after cleaning up the shoulders.

I haven't been printing too many individual pieces lately, just that what I am printing is rather large.
