@Reaper_Jon Thank you so much for sharing this information here!

The post mentioned that "cycled colors and limited-edition colors" are not eligible for batch ordering (completely understandable). Would it be possible for there to be some indication on the list of which ones those are?

Huzzah!

I'm also rather curious if this means it would be possible to acquire some of the HD colours, such as Rusty Red. I rather like that red...

Edit: not that I'd be able to order it right now, it's too late in the year to risk a paint shipment.

Nuts.

I really got a lot of use out of things like Muddy Soil, the Redstone triad, and I always go for more "bone" triads (I guess I feel the need to vary up my skeletons).

Hell, Rauthuros used all the "bone" triads, the sunset purples, Muddy Soil triad, Redstone, and Olive Skin.

I wonder...

If Reaper is willing to schedule mini batches (for a price), but we must expect that it can take 4 weeks before that batch can be processed.

What if several painters all ordered the same paint?

Also, it was nice to know the approximate formula for deciding which paints gets pulled.

While we know that Reaper paints lasts for many years, it's good to know that the paint we buy is fresh.

I also wonder if we should perhaps have a thread somewhere where we can gather interest of what colors.  And then present a combined order to Reaper.  Where colors overlap they can then streamline a run for that color.

What you might want to do is have someone put together a thread and spreadsheet, using a GoogleDoc or something, and then have someone shoot out an order when the interest hits the mark. It would make it easier for the Reaper folks, I think, if you did it that way. They ship to one person who then ships the people who want it.

Of course, you'd have to have someone you can trust and make sure that the people who say they're going to reimburse actually does...

Sounds a bit like a Box of Goodwill arrangement to me.

Might not be something happens more than once a year, though.

Well even if we just got a list of what colors people want.  And then say, hey let's all put in an order for color XXXXX on this date so they get an order for one color together.  Not necessarily rely on one person ordering and doing a re-ship.  Now of course you would be getting 10 bottles, but perhaps a few painters in a local area can split the order in person.

Not sure any of this would work, but just trying to perhaps take some burden off Reaper as they are going to provide this great service and stop an order for a color coming in, they do it, then another for the same comes quickly after if we can all just think ahead some and organize ourselves!

I can't join a BoGW because shipping to and from Norway is just... Noooooo!

Shipping anything between adresses in Norway isn't all that cheap, either...

So I'm more in the 'everyone send in their own order for the same colours at the same time'.

I wonder...

Since this will be mostly 'go to paints' for most artists, would it be possible to talk Reaper into using 60ml bottles?

(3 x 60ml bottles = 10 x standard Reaper bottles)

Probably not...

But if they collect and run the 'special orders' one after another, they should be able to order in enough large bottles so that they arrive just before the job starts, and they end up with little or no excess inventory.

There is an EU version.

Maybe one day join that one?

I'm just thrilled that Reaper is willing to offer the special order service.  That's a special level of dedication to customers right there.

I agree. It is the sort of thing that may be impractical for a single person (10 bottles of one paint) but would be super good for a club order. The Vancouver group has been organizing group purchases quite a bit now to save on shipping costs.

This would likely run afoul of the 'no trading' rules of the forums, I agree that an offline list and maybe keeping discussion on Discord? might be warranted.. but @Reaper_Jon would be the ultimate arbiter on how allowable that would be

it's no different than how they just quietly stop restocking bones and minis that don't sell.. it just hits harder when a color you use a lot is one of the low sellers..

This was different though. This was not "we're not going to make this anymore and when it hits 0 it's gone". This was over 40 paints suddenly disappearing from a website overnight. You know there is likely still some stock of each of these. But, they're just gone. I have to admit, I'm quite angry at the handling of all this.
