Just thought of it, one of the creepiest television moments of 1999 was "Hush", the silent episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. For me, that is one of the scariest episodes in television history.

The original Salem's Lot is also a good one to watch this time of year.

Well inspired by the GTKU thread and these conversations I gave American Horror Story  a try - Season 2 Asylum - seemed to have the best reviews.

watched 2 episodes and wasn't impressed. Aliens, Devil Possession, abusive guards, medical experiments, repressive society, serial killer wearing a skin suit ...  its like they were just throwing stuff at a wall.

The Haunting of Hill House (netflix version) is planning on releasing a sequel in a few days...  Bly Manor

but it is based on an old story -

one of my horror favorites from growing up, but it was most effective because I didn't already know the twist.

thus my efforts not to name the source material.

Ill watch and hope that it gets far enough from the source to be surprising.

I have a regular Halloween watchlist

Sleepy Hollow

The Witches of Eastwick

Trick r Treat

Warlock (difficult to find, but the full film is available on Youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrRlBqfLvU0&list=PLiv6O--EHnFf52NCgyPI-vGDZsekFl17N)

Man I loved Warlock, but it is one of those movies that didn't really make the crossover to more modern media well.

A couple of others I enjoy that are acceptable for Halloween are Night Breed and Solomon Kane. Solomon Kane is one of the great underrated movies of our time, and James Purefoy is brilliant. I get that the production values may not have been the highest, but still a great flick. Night Breed hasn't aged as well, but it's still a decent watch.

I ended up watching one of my Scooby-Doo movies yesterday, so I might have to re-think my marathon idea...

It was "Scooby-Doo and the Curse of the 13th Ghost." I enjoyed it. I watched the 13th Ghost series a few years ago and I liked how they connected it to the modern "canon." The DVD comes with the premier episode and another one.

Yes, sadly true, I still love it though.

That's a shame. Strange they should block it there but not here.

I've just watched 'The Conjuring' with Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga. Really well done I thought.

Also, yesterday I saw a low budget movie called 'The Shrine' - fairly run of the mill initially but then it really ramps up and the twist is excellent https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1341710/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

That’s one of our favorites here! I really enjoyed the format, they did the separate stories really well.

They have it on The Big River for $8 US.

One I want to see again, after far too long - Pumpkinhead. Stan Winston at his best.

And maybe an embarrassing favorite - Innocent Blood.

They did, there's something particularly unnerving about that film. On the one hand it feel a bit like a Horror comedy and on the other it's extremely sinister
