Peithetairos 2456 Report post Posted October 8, 2020 I have two Spirits of the Forest (Bones) and wanted to convert one into a Ent, that is kind of taller and less bulky. Long story short, I kept the head and torso, but extended the arms and legs. So far I roughed out the volumes. Next up refinement and textures. I will place a mushroom man on his palm and some smaller ones riding along in the cavity in his chest, while he leans on a staff in his other hand.

Yes, I thought it is time to branch out and paint some bigger dudes. 3 hours ago, Glitterwolf said: I wood say that's interesting! 37 minutes ago, BadgersinMeadows said: It's unbeleafable how cool this is!! I just made a test in terms of carving the mix: Works very well. It is very hard, but the surface can be worked with a needle tool.

Peithetairos 2456 Report post Posted October 16, 2020 Bark texture applied (carved in filler) and some more branches added. The face of the Ent also got some grumpiness tonight. I went for a more whimsical style. I will add a moss beard as well.

Ratio about 3:1. Depending how flexible you want it you can add more or less greenstuff. I didn't invent it, but it seems many sculptors use it to get the best of both worlds. You mix each component separately and combine them in the end.

Peithetairos 2456 Report post Posted October 20, 2020 I did some experiments with wool, moss and coconut fiber to fashion a moss beard. I think I will add some more volume, but overall it looks fine. Painting will be done via airbrush. I also finished his fingers. Apart from the beard I only need to add some ranking ivy, maybe some more mushrooms and I can start painting.
