Crowley
I have this little dude that I painted up tonight. I'm 99% sure he's a 40k inquisitorial servator, but I don't remember what figures he came with, whether it was demon hunters or witch hunters or... Anyone recognize him?
Twalrus
Are there any symbols on the book? Any idea how old the miniature is or at least how long you've had it? He's kinda 40kish but I don't immediately recognise him nor am I sure he fits exactly with the aesthetic of servitors since like the turn of the millenium. He's not cyborged up enough with quill arms or printer ribcages to fit in with the inquisitorial servitors that were made back in 3rd-4th edition and generally lacks the kind of specific detail they had. If he is a 40k mini then he's probably from the 80's? And/or some kind of special edition? I'm giving it a shot, looking things up, anyway. Moderator Chaoswolf Posted October 25, 2020 Moderator Share Posted October 25, 2020 He doesn't look familiar...how big is he? He doesn't look mechanical enough to be GW (plus, no skulls) He's not shown in the in the big hardcover GW catalogue that GW put out about 10 years ago.
Crowley
He's small, not even an inch tall. There is a distinct lack of skulls... I don't remember where he came from, but I think I acquired him 15-20 years back. He did have a tab, but I cut it off. Nothing helpful on the book, sadly. Twalrus
I'm looking through the catalogues on Stuff of Legends and no luck so far. Currently I'm leaning towards it not being a 40k model at all. It just lacks the iconography you'd associate with anything inquisitorial or ecclesiarchal, it isn't cyborged enough to be AM and it's just a tiny dude with a chastity cage tank top. Sure, various inquisitors have had some cyborg cherubs but this is a halfling or shaven dwarf, neither of which fits with the range of aesthetics that Citadel has used since like the mid-90's. Even if it was an obscure 40k ratling, I don't think it would have boots. Too bad the tab is gone.
Aestivalis
Is it possible he's from the original Warzone/Mutant Chronicles line of minis? They had a very similar theme to WH40K in the early and mid 90s. The hole in the back makes me think that he was supposed to be on a chain connected to a larger boss miniature. strawhat
SoL identifies it as part of the Skulz program. It's Mechanicus, according to them. http://www.solegends.com/citle2000/skulz/skulzadeptus/index.htm It's a group shot, but you can see our little buddy in there. He's got individual shots below. I'm a dumb-broccoli and didn't scroll. Edited October 25, 2020 by strawhat 1
Twalrus
That would explain why I didn't recognise it at all, I know like nothing about Skulz. Now that's a neat find.

I wouldn't have known, I just got lucky and found an image and then went down a small rabbit hole. 1 hour ago, Crowley said: Ah!! I wasn't looking far back enough!
