I think most GM's can sympathise, sometimes your players just get lucky going through a dungeon. Maybe the dice are on their side or maybe they're just a bunch of min/maxing little murder hobos that have destroyed everything in their path. What you need is one final encounter, one last way to try and salvage at least some of your pride and show them that they're not quite as in control as they think they are. 

 

There's a room. It's certainly locked and probably warded and what player can resist that? Once they force their way the find this ancient stone circle. There's some sort of mossy ooze growing on its base, but the players attention is drawn to the softly pulsing light from the giant cabochon jewels set as eyes in the carved dragon heads. How can they resist?

This is when you turn around the portal What comes out of it? Not sure, but its certainly something draconic, maybe even something with 5 heads

Fantastic. Super creative. You do great work with making the colors transition smoothly. Is it wrong that I kind of want to see a great big Stargate "kawooosh" extending further out of that portal with all those colors spinning around it? (Cuz you know, it's not like you didn't put enough work into this.)

That came out really well!  I like that imagery letting you show the gate as on or off.  Its just cool! (And I may have to steal it...)

I am in awe of how you painted this.  Watching along as you did was a real treat, but now the final is simply stunning.  I love the contrast you built in each dragon, it just sets the perfect mood.  Just fantastic!

As an adventurer, I think I would jump right through... after inviting the barbarian to jump in first.

A massive "Thank You" to everyone who commented and liked my portal. It's an amazing sculpt and I'm so glad it worked out in the end. Unfortunately it won't be inflicted on my players for quite some time due to visiting restrictions here, but that'll just give me more time to figure out(and paint!) exactly what's on the other side of the portal  I might even get my Ma'al finished but that point!

Thank you so much! You did an awesome job with that sculpt and your encouragement really means a lot to me. As long as you keep sculpting fantastic minis then I'm absolutely stoked to keep on painting them!
