Here's the answer if you don't want to play detective yourself:

This was deciphered over on the Reaper FB site yesterday.  It says November 5th 6:00.  It's the date of Reaper's 100 episode of Reaper Live.

If you wish to read the deciphering thread, go hear: https://www.facebook.com/groups/40821538884/permalink/10159115367003885/

So this is an actual game and not a hacked fishing email that sends me somewhere in Nigeria?  If is legit I'll try to figure it out as I love ciphers and not look at the solution.  I saw the birthday pretty quickly.

I get that it's a clue kind of thing, but as an IT guy this would have me seeing red if it came into my inbox (or was sent by one of our employees).

It was an instant red flag for me as well.

@Reaper_Jon you might want to pass on to those that run these kinds of things that having some sort of mention about them, or y'know, not having them written EXACTLY LIKE PHISHING EMAILS are written...  Next time they need to think about how the average person is going to react to an unsolicited email (it's from an unknown email address to most) - 95% of the comments I've seen about this email started with "is this spam, phishing, or has Reaper been hacked".  This is especially important for a company to keep in mind given that phishing attacks this year are something like 425% higher frequency compared to last year, and most corporate workplaces run either reminder campaigns, or actual phishing training scenarios for their employees.

I love the thought of the thing, but yeah.  So many red flags went off because of the email, and doubly so that many on Reaper's email distribution list (which we signed up for company info stuffs) got it...  You can see why many, if not most would instantly think something suspicious is up.

Yes, there was a miscommunication,.. This was suppose to go out via the normal Reaper Email (and we should have put a disclaimer on the bottom saying it wasn't one) but it instead went from the Grimm email so it it confusing.
I understand where people are coming from. The next chapters will not be done by email, so there is that reassurance and will be harder with more steps involved. (a lot of people dont know what ARG's are.) and it isn't for everyone and thats okay, because its not meant for everyone. but the people who love ARG's are rolling with it and its been really exciting to watch!
Look out for the future chapters, Grimm has whispered to me that it is coming soon.

Got this one today myself. Was so heckin' confused.

Then I remembered that I'm a secret code enthusiast. But when I saw what the capital letters spelled, and then I remembered that my birthday was little over two weeks ago, I was confused. Very confused.

Then I remembered that I'm a "when in doubt, look it up" enthusiast.

And here I am.
