Welcome to Getting to Know You, NOVEMBER 2020 Edition.

The rules as they currently stand ( we all know most of you rebellious lot will ignore most of it, but one can try)

1. Every day, or so (unless I am out or ill or something) I will post a question.

1.5. Should I be unable to post a question for the day a crack team of deputy quisitors, former quisitors, and random forum members are all chomping at the bit to step in and post one...

2. In theory there is a 24 hour span to answer that question before the next question is posted.
2.5. (Rule 2 is the most frequently ignored rule.)
3. Questions are going to be posted between 8:00 hours and 12:00 hours CET. ( Central European Time)
4. Everyone is encouraged to suggest future questions to be posted via PM to me...
5. You do not have to answer every question to play...
6. If a question is TMI or N/A simply wait for the next question.. ..or post that you decline to answer (clues regarding why can be fun...unless TMI).
7. Weekend questions will usually take the form of two or three day quests, starting on Friday or Saturday.

All HAIL WOOF!

Question November 1st.

If you had to live a week without internet, what will you do to keep yourself busy?

I've got plenty of DVD's to watch and mini's to paint so I think I'd be fine.

I would probably struggle to adjust for the first day or two though, I waste far too much time just mindlessly browsing the 'Net.

I would probably get more crafting done, read some things, & generally be more happily productive.

I have, of late, been spending less time on the internet. It has less interest for me other than emails.

Read, paint, abuse the Playstation, watch vhs and dvds. When I was in Austin, the rathole I was staying in often would lose internet for up to two weeks at a time, so this is something I'm somewhat used to. I've been having a paranoid little feeling that the internet might go down at some point in the next few months, so I've been raiding the Gutenburg Project for pdfs something fierce these last few weeks.

I have plenty of paper books, role playing games, board games, and miniatures to paint.  None of that requires electricity, let alone the internet. My manual typewriter is about to go in for service, though, so it would be best if I wasn’t attempting to work on any lengthy writing project.  Actually, the idea of a week without the net sounds rather appealing right now...

That would also be a week off work (wouldn't that be lovely....) so all the painting!!!  Also board games, maybe a couple games of Legion, actually get some reading done, and probably watch a few old DVDs (our "cable" is internet based, and our pvr is "cloud based" so none of that would work.

I'm going to go with what most suspect would happen within a day or two - go outright bonkers!

Sure, we have books, DVDs, and I have more than enough minis to paint but my favourite time passer REQUIRES an internet connection (Elite:Dangerous is online only).  I've done the loss of internet for a while, it isn't fun. I survived and managed, but yeah. Not my kind of thing.

Edit: now, if it were things like go without forums or messengers for a week, sure. I could do that. But no internet period? I like being able to look up recipe possibilities....
