Every year, my boss gives me a 100$ gift card for a steak house. I have a collection of them sitting on my desk. I appreciate the gift, but I'm single. I teased him that making me work friday nights and saturday does nothing to help this, so he's been trying to set me up with the dispatcher.

I like prepaid Visa cards or food store cards. A girl's gotta eat... and so do her fur people.

Do your fur people like steak? :poke: Order for two (or three, four, five) and do takeaway.

Many moons ago I waited tables for a summer at an open air restaurant in NYC. It was by the river, and dogs were welcome, we had water bowls to give four-legged diners and boxes of treats to give them (if their owners didn't object). Anyways, there was one guy who would always come in with his dog, small enough to fit under his arm, and he'd order two hamburgers, one thoroughly cooked and just on a bun for his dog. He was a cool regular.

Question November 25th.

What kind of gift certificates/vouchers do you prefer?

( A free dinner in a restaurant, an amount to spend in a clothing store, DIY store? etc.etc.)

If it's going to be for a specific store, please make sure it's someplace that I actually go to.

Otherwise, I'd prefer a generic prepaid Visa.

WEEKEND CHALLENGE NOVEMBER 13th./15th.

Pick a theme.

Get your cellphone/camera.

Take pics, post them.

For those of you who don't want to or can't take pics.

Draw the theme.

Tell us about the theme, what does it mean to you and how do the pics/drawings fit in?

Belated response to last weekends question  spoilered for those on low data.

The theme is "This was the nicest day we've had in weeks! Look at the amazing light!"

A general use one, as my hobbies are a bit diverse.

Interesting difference in language there. Your buzzard would be called a hawk around here. The term buzzard would normally be reserved  for a carrion eater (unless of course that's a carrion eater I don't recognize because I've never been to Scotland). Your coot would be black around here and called a mudhen. And your goosander is called a common merganser, or just a merganser. Nice whooper swan pic! Thanks for sharing those.

Question November 26th.

If there would be only one Season, which on would you prefer?

( Summer/Winter/Autumn/Spring...just in case one would go for hunting season or something like that:poke:)

Autumn, 'cause it's got the best holiday--Halloween.

Spring, because it has a nice balance of chill and warmth, but also because mosquitos aren't really a thing yet. Or hornets.

Race Season!!

Since that doesn't seem to be an option, Autumn.  Warm days, cool nights, lots of colours, less bugs, generally the best season for my allergies, and they race for a good part of it..

The early days of Autumn.

  • It's warm without being hot.
  • Dryer air.
  • An explosion of colors in the trees.
  • Sun is lower in the sky and emphasizes those same colors.
  • Harvest time means tons of fresh produce.

Once all the leaves have fallen, party's over.
