Question November 3rd.

Aside from necessities, what one thing could you not go a day without?

Off hand, I can't think of anything that I can't do without that isn't a necessity...I consider coffee a necessity.

Yeah, I'm going to have to go the coffee route too; though it took me a while to to make my currently coffee starved brain agree with @Crowley on it not actually being a necessity.

I think I'll go with good footwear that takes its time to wear out. Specifically waterproof footwear.

Sure, it's pricier, but on the flipside it's always handy when you inadvertently step into a 3" deep puddle to still have dry feet for the rest of the day...  My day to day footwear can only do a 2" or so puddle, but it's still handy when going around town or for a walk!

Now I'm curious as to what else I use everyday, and would definitely miss...

A good nights sleep.

I haven't had one for the last couple of days and I'm already struggling to do anything due to my mushy, sleep-deprived brain.

Currently, the space heaters. Earliest slot to get the replacement furnace in is Monday, and while it's not in any way dangerously cold yet around here, my knees and ankles have been registering their displeasure something fierce the last few days.

It's a bit abstract, but hobbies as a whole are very important to me.

It can be reading, browsing the internet, games, painting, etc. Something that keeps my brain entertained that isn't work related.

This was somewhat driven into me the several times I had surgery and had to stay in the hospital for a while. No wifi, or decent TV. Just stuck in a room with machines that go "Ping!" that tell me I'm still alive. So a book, preloaded games or radio, were quite welcome.

Nothing. Other than food and water I can take a day without anything. It won't be a happy day but I've had those before and survived.

This seems like a trick question…… <_<

If you cannot go a day without it, it is a necessity.

I have gone a day without food, …without meds, …without speaking to anyone, …without electricity, …happily they were not all the same day. But Tuckermann is incorrect, there is at least one thing:

IYPT_ART_01_Oxygen_LiquidOxygen_(1).jpg?

It is a pretty shade of blue… But I advise against drinking any. It is much better at room temperature.
