Question November 3rd.

Aside from necessities, what one thing could you not go a day without?

I've spent years where the necessities were not a sure thing, so I'm good with that. I have gotten used to having daily caffeine like so many others, but it's nice to not have to hustle for food and shelter on a daily basis.

As long as the necessities are met (food, water, shelter, hygiene) then I'm pretty good. Can even go for a while without coffee if necessary, and I'm fairly capable of keeping myself busy. But that's not a very interesting answer. So I'm going to say my pets. I know, sounds a bit cliche, but even when I'm on vacation, one of the only things I miss and worry about are my pets.

I can't really think of anything. Unless you lock me in a completely empty room, I can find something to do to amuse myself.

If you do lock me in a completely empty room, I will amuse myself by finding a way to break out.

That reminds me of when Daughter Dilvish was ~3 years old, she was misbehaving, so we sent her to her room.  She continued, so we began removing toys and objects from her room.  By the end of things, all that was left was a mattress on the floor and she was happily playing with a make believe friend.  I finally saw someone out stubborn my wife that day.  It may have been a harbinger of thing to come, as the other two daughters can be just as stubborn.

None of them take after me of course.

Question November 4th.

Is there something you really really want to do at least once in your life?

Or did you do it already, if so share!

Surf a tornado. Probably wouldn't survive it, but it would at least be a distinctive way to go out.

Fist fight a Bigfoot. I survive this, I ought to be able to grab a decent sized fur sample, thus proving it's existence, then have to spend the rest of my days dodging assassins sent by the Smithsonian trying to maintain the coverup...

Invade the Bermuda Triangle. Either I find out what's going on, disappear without a trace, or get into a knife fight with a giant squid.

Since boyhood, I have dreamed of sailing the South Seas. It never happened &, at this stage in my life, it probably never will.

Ever since I was a kid I always wanted to go see an F1 race. I've still never attended one as a spectator, but I've marshaled 4 of them in Montreal now, and hopefully will do some more, assuming they get running there again.

I'd still like to get to a few in other countries, but travel restrictions, finances and not getting any younger may impact those....

And I'd like to get to Reapercon, one of these years.

I'd love to visit New Zealand again!  I'd also love to visit the Netherlands at some point too, even though some of my friends said "we'll do the tourist thing" if I ever visit.

Sure, I probably don't need to worry about it, since it's probably like "the tourist thing" when people visit here (see famous landmarks, go to the world's largest tourist trap I mean mall, hit up a Tim Hortons (seriously don't know why people put THIS as an "essential to do when visiting Canada"), that kinda thing) but then I'm reminded about our east coast and screech, or how some pull the gag of "absolutely must try!" and it's Prairie oysters, so.... Yeah. Lol

I'd really like to go up into orbit, or even to the lunar surface.

There's still a lot of places I'd like to visit and I'd like to try both sky diving and scuba diving. In my late 40s now so already cut some of the rougher things from the wish list.

I need to get me some new dreams. Since I traveled and lived abroad, a lot of stuff got accomplished

I think I'm getting old as a lot of common bucket list items don't interest me. So climbing Mount Everest (or any other mountain); parachute/bungee jumping; boat cruises; safaris, just don't appeal to me anymore.

In many ways, my current solitude is a major snag. I want to do stuff with people and share the experience. Be it a friend or a loved one. It's one of the reasons ReaperCon is much more fun in person with you guys than virtual.

Once I'm back on the job market with an income, my weird plan is to finance and travel with my niece/nephews to help them accomplish their own bucket list and witness it. They're between ages 12-18, so I got some time.
