Inarah 41681 Report post Posted November 25, 2020 (edited) It's time for the Annual Thanksgiving Weekend Paint Binge. A bit toned down this year, I'll only be attempting 10 figures in 4 days. I'm not challenging anyone to paint along this year, but you are welcome to join in if you like. The rules are the same: the object is to finish as many figures as possible. Quantity counts over quality. All manufacturers are fair game. I'll be posting WIPs and finished pieces as I go. Figures will be prepped and primed before hand. Work? Travel? Cooking a big family meal? Paint anyway, that is part of the challenge. Painting begins at 00:01 am Nov 26 and ends 23:59 pm Nov 29. Then Monday I will begin posting show off pics. No special challenges this year, we've had enough of those in 2020. Just get 'er done! ManvsMini 13132 Report post Posted November 25, 2020 Ahh, just this morning I was wondering to myself "Will Inarah be doing her annual Thanksgiving painting binge?" Asked, and answered. May not get to participate, but looking forward to seeing what you do. I do have several half-finished models that just need to be done.
Lord of the Dish Pit 23041 Report post Posted November 26, 2020 I'm in. Goal is to finish a 6 man unit of Pilgrim cavalry, three Witch Hunter Knights, and finish four Battle Nuns I started awhile back.

Rob Dean 14775 Report post Posted November 27, 2020 I have to say that does look a little unusual on the bread. My usual “normal” (i.e. quick rise dry yeast) bread usually looks like that after kneading. Lately I’ve been doing a lot of sourdough, and those doughs run even wetter (say 1000 g flour to 780 g water plus 220 g of a pre-ferment that’s 50% water, 50% flour). I’m trying to play along on the Paint Binge this year, since I’m not going anywhere. I ended up working on 1/72 scale plastic figures yesterday, with a couple of Caesar Miniatures orcs and a pair of trolls from the Age of Mythology board game. It should be back to the painting shortly...
Lord of the Dish Pit 23041 Report post Posted November 27, 2020 The nun's faces are done... So other than some washes, detail work, and basing, they're on the downhill slope now. Most of the Pilgrim horses received basecoats. I'm a bit behind where I was hoping to be, hopefully by the end of today I'll have caught up.
Inarah 41681 Report post Posted November 27, 2020 I'm off to a slow start this morning, but.... eh. Thanks @Rob Dean, that's what I thought it should have looked like. In the end the rolls were ok, but dense. They are destined to become croutons for the turkey soup in a couple of days.

A bread pudding will also use up some extra firm bread in a pinch. I was fiddling around with some 1/72 plastic personalities today. The merchant on the mule is from a set of Crusader baggage, and the “dryad” is from a Celtic Warrior Queen set. She’s got slightly inhuman proportions to her face anyway...
Inarah 41681 Report post Posted November 27, 2020 Charlie the giant anaconda is done, as is this guy: Added the fence into the mix, because I had it ready. Man with cape is done. Duelist has been a WIP, I got a bit done on her today, too. Testing dragon colors. Not sure yet.
