Getting to know you December 2020

I found them on Etsy one day (the Tsy of E?). Middling quality 3d prints, they took an amount of repair/work/sculpting.

I've found a few 3d prints on the Tsy of E (yes, we'll make it catch on), and I've always wondered what kind of work you need to do on them, since I've never held a physical 3d print. The ones I've been looking at are resin, not the filament, what kind were yours? And what kind of prep did you have to put into it (besides the repair work)? Maybe it is a question best asked in the 3d print section...

December 1:

lets start easy, What are you working on this month? Is it different than last month?

I'm mostly working on finishing up things that have been sitting on my desk too long this month, snake necrons, the headless footman from halloween, the skull headed knight reaper released in october, a few bones minis, and the last member of the wyrd cyberpunk gang.

it's a little different than last month which was mostly taken up with battletech

These were resin.

The 3d print section might have more experience than I do. I had to pry off all sorts of little cylinders that the machine used to hold the print in place, like sprues but in inopportune locations. I had to file down random nubs. I had some resin layers delaminate from each other so I just rebuilt those sections (tip of a horn and the front teeth of the white one).

These weren't my first 3d prints. But these were the first I made <_< faces at and had to resculpt sections on.

How do you feel about puns? What's the best, or worst, you've heard this year?

Eh, I'm neutral on them.  Some are good, but too often people will fall to the temptation of going completely overboard on them.

LOVE puns, but, for some reason or other, I can't recall hearing any this year...it has been a bad year all around.

I don't mind them, they are a part of my dad's humor so I grew up hearing a lot. Haven't heard many this year that I can recall. Only one that I can think of (and maybe it's a stretch to be a pun? You be the judge) is what I said to my dad after he fell off the ladder: try not to let gravity get you down.

I was trying to ease his bruised ego while we waited for x-ray results.

While they can become too much, well timed puns had become a staple at my gaming table.  With the restrictions I'm a little dry on puns these days though my son (11) is starting to warm up them.  They're not great, but he's learning.

Don't have any specifics from this year but one of my favorites ones that got me chased around the table as a player was trying to bean me (and it's not even fully a pun I don't think... ).

After defeating a small squad of ninja (Rokugan setting in D&D), one player asked how many ninja-tos (ninja swords) there were, my response, "It's usually 5 per foot, but you can remove their footwraps and count them if you like".

I heard a really good one 3 days ago. Best of the year. But I cannot remember it...

What does it say if I fail to remember them?
