I'm building my kid a shuttle from a page in the Young Scientist Book of Spaceflight that used to be mine.

The kid likes planes, and this is the closest I can get to that now.

I've already traced things out and have some foamcore. Will cut things out and maybe glue and prime tomorrow

Stuff has been sealed a light grey. Photos later?

Planning on off-white and grey going up to pure white highlights. pale blue windows and black under-carriage. After base coats, I'll do a quick wash of a navy translucent to try and bring out panel lines.

Red stripe near the end.

I might use this process to make planes for gaming later.

I wish I had a proper model image to copy. I'm just winging it (ha!).

Where the last update left off.

Anyway, here's where I'm stopping for now  I might try to redo some of it. Will definitely try to come back with different brushes. I think what I'm trying to do is clear, but I'm not quite getting the effect I want.

Good thing it totally doesnt matter!20201213_171106.thumb.jpg.fc700a7c9ac3cc786ffafd01e2da193d.jpg

I guess if I want to make my own, there's some astronauts and pilots I own or could get. Though I seem to remember another bones pilot besides the pulp one who isn't showing up. Is my memory that bad?

I've painted several astronauts and pulp aviators/aviatrices...any distinguishing features you recall about the missing pilot? I know Willy Brassbender (50013) would make a good pulp aeronaut, but he's not in Bones yet, nor is the Bomber Sophie (03988). I could recommend some figures from other manufacturers if need be...

Starting with a dry fit of 19507 Spiders of Emrith Kul encounter set.
Not sure what to do with those bodies in webs on the slot. Need to go back and look at the pics to see if I should cut them or see if I have a spare slotta base to stand them up.
      Backdrop is a black cardstock.

I decided because I have a bunch of grass boards, that I should do some backdrops for nice dioramas and maybe just regular photos. So I primed (mostly matte medium which I have liters of and a little primer and a tiny bit of craft paint for volume) some of my many cereal boxes.
Should I do anything more than sky and land/horizon? Tree silhouettes maybe? Got any good examples

This is a storage box/ terrain house I'm building for my kid's High Rollers set (which was found today and played with all without the knowledge it was a gift).
Will have removable roof maybe with shingles. Currently  just have walls and door. The extra cardboard from the door will disappear.

I decided to do the Mystic Circle so I could do all kinds of occult and folk horror scenarios.
Currently "cooking" in the utility sink. The base parts were pretty warped. I may glue them to some foamcore for a little extra stability, but mostly traced, because I need to keep them " modular" for storage (the arches, I think they still qualify as dolmens, but I forget, will get pulled on and off. Unless it really doesn't work ).

This will likely be an all June project, because I had an unexpected computer death and porch reno and need to deal with that.

I decided to do the big treant today to have something that I could do quickly.
Here's today in a few pics. They got a bit out of order.
Green beard, orange mushrooms, black + browning shadows, brown + light brown in highlights.  not sure what more I'll do. May not get to paint until the weekend.
