Happy New Year and welcome to Getting to Know You, January 2021 Edition!

The rules as they currently stand (in addition to all regular forum rules):

1. Every day, or so (unless I am out or ill or something) I will post a question.

1.5. Should I be unable to post a question for the day a crack team of deputy quisitors, former quisitors, and random forum members are all chomping at the bit to step in and post one...

2. In theory there is a 24 hour span to answer that question before the next question is posted.
2.5. (Rule 2 is the most frequently ignored rule.)
3. Questions are going to be posted sometime before 10:30am Eastern US Daylight time.
4. Everyone is encouraged to suggest future questions to be posted via PM to me...
5. You do not have to answer every question to play...
6. If a question is TMI or N/A simply wait for the next question.. ..or post that you decline to answer (clues regarding why can be fun...unless TMI).
7. Weekend questions may take the form of two or three day quests, starting on Friday or Saturday.

Thank you all for playing along as we get to know the real you... tell me, Malcolm Reynolds, are you familiar with the works of Shan Yu?

The first question shall be posted after a brief pause to prevent the merging of posts.

Question for January 1st:

Happy New Year! Forget the resolutions, which are usually what you are going to START or STOP doing. Tell us, what are you going to KEEP doing from last year (hobby-related or not, your choice)?

Stay on track to lose more weight.

Lost about 40 pounds last year. Currently stalled for various reasons (weather, several health issues that need time to heal, holiday overeating).

I'm going to keep nagging @Kuroneko to supply us with more Scottish vocabulary words. Maybe not "word of the day" but at least a "word of the month." A weekly word would be awesome though...

Most painfully true answer:  Keep buy more minis than I can feasibly paint.

Non-painful answer: Keep running games in my new campaign world.  I start running the second group in it on Saturday.

Happy New Year!

  • Try to maintain weight loss/keeping it steady on my desired goal.
  • Same as @Dilvish the Deliverer keep buying minis and 3D files I'll never get around to paint all.
  • Spend as much time as possible on hobby and girl.

Keep doing...working on building a website for creating warbands for WarGods

until that's finished (it would be easier to finish if I didn't keep refactoring it to make it more efficient), after that who knows

I will continue producing strange thingies for my Last Hurrah Project, AND live out my days with as much hope & happiness as I can muster.

I'm going to keep trying to slowly level up my painting and sculpting. I'm going to spend as much time with the Hamsterling as I can. And of course, I'm going to keep drinking COFFEE!!

Keep developing professionally. I'm moving 1700 miles for this job, I might as well be the best at it I can possibly be.

Procrastinating, it's what I'm good at.

Actually I will continue to refine the spreadsheet character generator for Stargate SG-1 that we are currently playing.  By the time I get it done we will stop playing.  It is usable now but I want to make it more useful.

As others have already said, buying more minis I don't really need (Thanks to today's Games Workshop preview I've already added a big, complicated mini to my wishlist, despite my terrible track record at finishing my big, complicated minis).

I'm going to keep painting (and playing) Star Wars Legion...if I run out of Imps, there are Droids.  If I run out of Droids there are Rebels.  If I run out of Rebels there are Clones.  I should be fine.....

I'm going to keep contributing regularly to the Acquisitions thread.  (that sounds better than "I'm going to buy yet more minis", right??)

I'm going to keep printing out minis, vehicles and terrain I might one day assemble and paint.

Keep working behind the scenes through covert operations to maintain the balance of power between M.E.O.W., W.O.O.F., R.I.B.B.I.T., and the other world shadow organizations of this forum.

I'm gonna keep on keepin' on. What that means to me is to keep trying to make the world a better place, even if things look a bit different. I'm chewing through my piles of mess in the house and donating to friends and charity. My co-worker got a bag of smoking chips yesterday. I'm still trying to volunteer and support my favorite charities. I still make TV dinners for friends and family.
