Question for January 10th:

Staying warm while you sleep in winter/cold temperatures: use as many blankets as needed, or crank up the heat so it feels like a tropical island?

Well, I prefer a cozy room plus cozy blankets. But I have to share my living space with someone who is apparently immune to cold, or at least resistant to it. We keep the bedroom around 65° at night. To compensate, I have plenty of blankets.

If you have the misfortune to end up at my house right now, you can cook for yourself. And while you’re at it, clean up the kitchen and take out the trash.

Swears.

Does getting married count?

Blankets.  I even have an electric blanket in the closet, but haven't had it out in years.  I should make sure it still works, just in case the furnace dies but I still have electricity.

I use an electric blanket, it's the best of both worlds!

Blankets and a winter metabolism. I produce more body heat when it's cold. It's strong enough that my partner sends me to bed first so I can make all the blankets warm for her.

Blankets, if the air around me is not cold I cannot sleep but I have to be bundled up as well.

Blankets. We're too cheap to go turning up the heat.

Some of the best comedy incorporates real-life happenings. If you did stand-up comedy, how well would your spouse or significant other (either past or current) take jokes that are about them? Or family members?

Probably not well....

Question for January 6th:

Have you ever been to a school reunion? Is it awkward seeing all the people you graduated with again? If you are from outside the US, do they do these reunions or anything similar in your country?

Never been to one. Not sure my class ever held one...  Would be maybe mildly interested in going if they did.

Question for January 8th:

How many alarms do you set to wake up in the morning (or your equivalent time of day if you have a non-traditional schedule)?

Just one, but given the small Hamsterling, I haven't needed it in 3 months.

Question for January 9th:

Go to your unpainted hoard, close your eyes, and pull out a mini. What is it? Is it something you forgot you had? Pics are optional, but always welcome. (If your treasure trove is like Russian dolls, storage box within storage box, keep going until you get to a mini.)

Okay, went to the closest box, and....

This lovely griffon with a knight sidekick from Legends of Signum. I'm sure it'll look awesome once I've actually built it.

I can't sleep when I'm cold, so it's a combination of toasty warm room, snuggly blankets and 1D3 cats. Luckily, my bedroom is really small with a big heater, which is great. As opposed to my painting area which has a teeny tiny heater in a fairly large room. The last few days of -7°C weather was not great for painting, let me tell you

Electric mattress cover + tons of blankets. I set the mattress heat at medium an hour or two before going to bed then turn it down to the lowest setting for the night.

One of the reasons I do this is that my apartment heating system sucks. After the owner's renovations, convection heaters had to be placed far from the exterior walls, so all round uneven heating. And I keep my apartment pretty cool at 16°C (60-61°F).

Question for January 11th:

They say to never lose your inner child. How frequently do you find yourself engaging in "childish" behavior (of the harmless variety)?

I'm fairly certain he runs the show.  Except when driving, because he drives like I'm playing Carmageddon, and all forms of me reaaaally don't like paperwork.

I only "adult" when I need to!

Daily, if possible...I don’t actually track it, but I do try to at least keep my sense of wonder from scabbing over, and putting on ice skates or roaming around on a bicycle with no expectations never gets old.

Umm, most of the time I think.  I have tanks, Big Stompy Robots and Mandalorians on my desk that get played with regularly.  I usually watch cartoons with breakfast.  I'm currently building/painting a droid army for Star Wars Legion, and can't even look at it without saying "Roger roger".....

The rules: as they were last month (in addition to all regular forum rules) except where I sneakily changed them:

      1. Every day, or so (unless I am out or ill or something) I will post a question. †
1.5. Should I be unable to post a question for the day, a crack team of deputy quisitors, former quisitors, and random forum members are all chomping at the bit to step in and post one... ††
      2. In theory there is a 24 hour span to answer that question before the next question is posted.
2.5. (Rule 2 is the most frequently ignored rule.)
      3. Questions are going to be posted sometime before 1 AM Reaper time (US Central).
      4. Everyone is encouraged to suggest future questions to be posted via PM to Talespinner or Morihalda…
      5. You do not have to answer every question to play...
      6. If a question is TMI or N/A simply wait for the next question.. ..or post that you decline to answer (clues regarding why can be fun...unless TMI).
      7. Weekend questions may take the form of two or three day quests, starting on Friday or Saturday.
      8. Pix always welcome.

The first question will need to be posted after a brief (10 minute) pause to foil the merging of posts.
The footnotes, because I can't resist doing †††footnotes:

      † I will aim for 0600 Reaper/Nottingham time.
††  If subs and backstops could wait until 11AM in Reaper/Denton's timezone to see if I remember.
      ††† …because I re-remembered how to do the dagger ( † ) symbol.
