Question for January 15th:

You are given power over one of the classical four elements (earth, fire, wind, water). Which do you choose to control?

Water. Always felt drawn to oceans and rivers

Air. Between being able to surf a tornado as a form of transportation, manipulate clouds into position, and gaining the allegiance of every bird on earth, I would be able to bring my power mad schemes into fruition much easier than with other elements.

Also I'm an Aquarius, so obvious choice here.

Oh wait. Ok. Fire. Fire is just the energy released by breaking molecular bonds. Now I don't just control your ATP bonds, I control all of them. Prepare to explooooode...

You need enough free diatomic oxygen for combustion so... between the hemoglobin and the water in my body to smother the flames your powers are useless against my ATP bonds whahahaha.

Using Avatar the Last Airbender as my guide, WATER is final choice.

  • Washing anything (myself, clothes, dishes) and then dry them in moments by drawing out the water is already a huge time saver.
  • Humidity control would be a cinch. Add or remove water from my room.
  • I can create ice any time I want to in the summer. Instant air conditioning!
  • Shovel the driveway? Clear the snow from the car? Nope, bend it away.
  • BLOODBENDING! But since I'm a nice person, I'll use it to guide all those houseflies out of my home.
  • Want to disappear? Instead fog or mist cloud!
  • Surfin' the waves in the comfort of my jaccuzi.
  • I could splash all the water I want in my bathtub and then bend it back down the drain.
  • Unclog the toilet is now entertainment.
  • COFFEEBENDING!
  • That thing about healing. I guess that counts.

Earth

Earth elemental minions and servitors sounds like a good idea.

I suppose it would be Earth; re, I am officially older than dirt. As such I should be in charge.

I prefer to be focused on only one job, it helps to prevent issues with payroll and scheduling.

There were times when I had up to 4 part time jobs at the same time. But that was when I had no full time job. It was also terrible. I would lose up to 3 hours a day to commuting, only get home in time to sleep, and then still not make enough to afford living expenses.

My current job has rules about reporting outside employment that pose a problem for most of the kinds of side jobs that would be worth doing right now.

Technically yes - run a small business doing commission 3d printing but also commissioning some digital sculpting for miniatures that I have ideas for but can't find (I apparently have a good eye for a lot of this stuff, but my sculpting ability is less than non-existent...unless I can write it out as code) which I then make available for sale.

No.

I do buy stuff and sell it through evilbay and such sites sometimes.

But that's it.

I would pick earth. In Avatar, it seemed coolest (Toph was coolest), I like it in DND mechanics, and I like digging in the dirt.

The closest I came to that was working while going to college. I ended up prioritizing work over school and almost failed. After that my mom made sure I didn’t have to work during school again.

My main job had a built in side job; i.e., I worked six or seven days a week often with twelve or longer hour days.

I did paint stuff for other folk while I was doing all the overtime. It was the only way I would get to work my craft.

The rules as they currently stand (in addition to all regular forum rules):

      1. Every day, or so (unless I am out or ill or some thing) I will post a question.
1.5. Should I be unable to post a question for the day (or send a recently asked one!) a crack team of deputy quisitors, former quisitors, and random forum members are all chomping at the bit to step in and post one...
      2. In theory there is a 24 hour span to answer that question before the next question is posted.
2.5. (Rule 2 is the most frequently ignored rule.)
      3. Questions are going to be posted sometime before 1 AM Reaper time (US Central).
      4. Everyone is encouraged to suggest future questions to be posted via PM to me...
      5. You do not have to answer every question to play...
      6. If a question is TMI or N/A simply wait for the next question.. ..or post that you decline to answer (clues regarding why can be fun...unless TMI).
      7. Weekend questions may take the form of two or three day quests, starting on Friday or Saturday.

The first question shall be posted after a brief pause to prevent the merging of posts.
