Question for January 21st:

Does your family give pets both official names AND nicknames?
If Yes, can you share some examples?

For reasons I can no longer remember, our dogs always ended up with a nickname ending in "Chops".

Ming became "Grumpy-chops" and Prince was "Wobble-chops", can't remember what Leo's was but he was definitely a something-chops.

The only reason my cat knew his name was because I constantly reinforced it when I fed him. And then I basically only used it when I really needed him to listen.

His nicknames were legendary in number. Bart, Bert, Bort, Barth, Bartacus, Mr B, etc ad nauseum. (Actually his full legal name was Bartolomeus)

edited to add: even his belly flap had multiple names. Sleeping flap, hunting flap, high speed stabilizer... :D

Nope, we just used names, although occasionally we did call Tyr, my crowntail Betta "explosion addict" and/or "addicted to Mythbusters"

Sort of.

My mother's family used to be involved with purebred dogs. Not competitively but enough. Rusty's full official registered name was "Danny's Golden Boy". Poppy's full registered name was "Ursa Minoris". Booger's name was "Orion the Hunter". I don't remember Bear's full name.

Klondike = chonk or chonky butt = marshmallow = meatball (yeah he's fat)

Yes, of course. My cat was Kassandra, but she responded better to “Stupid” she had other names as well, but Stupid was the one she responded best to.

Lucinda = monster = whingy kitty

Parfait; Artemis; Matilda; Freya = Those bloody goats

Led Zepp; Kaiser = the boys (these two are Alpacas, they came with their names)

Tell us two truths and one lie about yourself, in any order. You can reveal the lie in a spoiler, or leave us wondering, the decision is yours.

There is a 12 year age difference between myself and my oldest sibling.

I have multiple small tattoos in Khmer (Cambodian) script in specific places ("chakra" points, for lack of a better term) on my body.

I can operate a forklift.

Spoiler

No tattoos on me.

  1. I can recreate most foods I eat in a restaurant at home after having tasted ad smelled it ( exception star chef's dishes)
  2. I'm very friendly and not too big, but I can take someone out in seconds if necessary.
  3. I love to ride fast vehicles to the max, the faster the better.
Spoiler

I like to drive, but I'm pretty careful and laid back, in fact, I don't like it when it goes too fast.

At the age of 15, I built and operated a sound system for country music legend Porter Wagoner.
I was a runway model in Los Angeles in the 90s.

I free-climbed a 1000' cliff face (no safety gear).

The cliff face was only 800'
