Question for January 30th:

Do you have any crazy roommate stories you'd be willing to share with us? (They don't even have to be crazy, I'll settle for humorous to mildly entertaining.)

In collage I had a roommate that was a EE (Electronic Engineer).  He was a son of an Alexandrian Banker.  He had a stereo system that was all bells and whistles.  Every once in a while he would flick a button and loose all sound.  To get it back he would push a button.  If that button did not work he would bump the volume up and push another button. This would take a long time and he would always bump the volume after each button.  Needless to say when he got sound back the volume was very high and would usually blow out the speakers (until he bought speakers that he could not blow out)

This was the one I could tell on the forum.  (If you see me in person sometime ask about Fred and the baggies.  It is a long story and Fred does not come off well.)

Jan 29th I reread books all the time and always front to back.  Right now I am reading Whiskey Island by Les Roberts.

If you have the misfortune to end up at my house right now, you can cook for yourself. And while you’re at it, clean up the kitchen and take out the trash.

Swears.

Does getting married count?

I lived with a group of guys who were in a punk band together for about a year and a half before meeting my wife. It was a party house for the most part so it seemed like every night there was a new, crazier thing happening. We used to like to pull the dumbest pranks on one another. I remember one Sunday morning, after a particularly brutal Saturday night, I woke up on the couch to find my hands tied loosely together with some rope and a knife to cut my way out sitting on a table across the room. I thought, well that's not a very funny prank. So I got up to go get the knife not realizing they had taped one of my legs to a heavy punching bag. Took two steps and went straight over on my face. Unfortunately for them they left me with enough rope to go tie the doorknobs of everyone's' bedrooms together and then left to go grab some breakfast. The doors opened inward so they couldn't get out of their rooms. Got back an hour later to one of them yelling about how he had to pee and the other two yelling at him to shut up so they could go back to sleep. There's a bunch more weird stories from that place, but this is a family friendly forum, so those are definitely not going to get told.

Never really had a roommate, so I'll just join @TGP.

Maybe I am the crazy roommate!

That would explain why everyone else has stories, but I don't.

Well, there was the one roommate who never brought dishes out of her room. We'd have to eventually go in there and get them. One time it had been a while, over a school break, and I'm pretty sure in the process of reclaiming the dishes I disrupted what would have become a new civilization.

I will say this same friend had a roommate that when he moved out/away he took the time to sign the guy up to every religious/ world organization newsletter he could find & this was back when people sent more physical stuff in the mail.

This is what trade shows are for. My relatives had this really annoying habit of going to farm shows and putting my dad's mailing address in all the "more information, please" boxes. I think we are now members of the Alberta Separatists political party.

The best one I can think of was the time the bishop gave me an eraser that came in the babybel cheese package. It looked just like a babybel, except it was a piece of hard rubber, especially after I put it in the fridge. It was in there a week before my roomie asked if she could have it. I said to go for it. That "cheese" could've been used in forensic odontology, the bite marks were so clear. It was actually a terrible idea, because she could've choked on the eraser. Maybe babybel and I had the same hindsight, because I've never seen cheese shaped erasers since.

Question for January 31st:

Would you rather always be slightly late or super early to everything (meetings/appointments/dates/etc.)?

Fashionably late. Khans do everything on their own time. The greatest of warlords let anticipation build into terror.

And that does it for me, thank you all for playing. Next month's inquisitor will be @TaleSpinner.

I hate being early, so yeah, slightly late sounds good.

I'm already really early to everything. It's can be an inconvenience but I prefer it that way.

This is not even a "would your rather" question for me.

I AM always early for meetings and such.

And thanks for the wonderful questions!!!

I am invariably early for appointments/dates. It is probably YET ANOTHER sign of imminent senility.

Because I rely on a rather unreliable public transport system, I'm already super early to everything.

The rules: as they were last month (in addition to all regular forum rules) except where I sneakily changed them:

      1. Every day, or so (unless I am out or ill or something) I will post a question. †
1.5. Should I be unable to post a question for the day, a crack team of deputy quisitors, former quisitors, and random forum members are all chomping at the bit to step in and post one... ††
      2. In theory there is a 24 hour span to answer that question before the next question is posted.
2.5. (Rule 2 is the most frequently ignored rule.)
      3. Questions are going to be posted sometime before 1 AM Reaper time (US Central).
      4. Everyone is encouraged to suggest future questions to be posted via PM to Talespinner or Morihalda…
      5. You do not have to answer every question to play...
      6. If a question is TMI or N/A simply wait for the next question.. ..or post that you decline to answer (clues regarding why can be fun...unless TMI).
      7. Weekend questions may take the form of two or three day quests, starting on Friday or Saturday.
      8. Pix always welcome.

The first question will need to be posted after a brief (10 minute) pause to foil the merging of posts.
The footnotes, because I can't resist doing †††footnotes:

      † I will aim for 0600 Reaper/Nottingham time.
††  If subs and backstops could wait until 11AM in Reaper/Denton's timezone to see if I remember.
      ††† …because I re-remembered how to do the dagger ( † ) symbol.
