Hi all - here is the courtesan townsfolk figure from Bones IV. I learned that yes, just as everyone says, orange does not cover well. 100 coats of orange later....

I think it turned out well.

 

top tip: try painting a layer of either ochre / buff or reddish brown/ chestnut before you paint orange, depending on if you want it bright or muted. I find this saves a lot of coats/unevenness. (also, use buff or bone under yellow, same reason), especially if you use black or grey undercoats.

Like mentioned above, well worth the effort, and as also mentioned above, it can help to put another slightly darker tone under it before the orange. Ends. Saving lots of time. I do that with my yellows.
