CMON Presents: The Animation Collection

Recommended Posts

No SG's, so pledge $1.

Miniatures are painted. The Mayhem mini's will be painted at retail and SD ones will not.

$5 to $7 per mini, which is about the same price as figures on Amazon. <_<

Yeah, I thought it was a tad high for a KS. I will probably drop down to just the Scooby Doo, but my non gaming wife showed some interest in Looney Tunes.

Seriously, making Beast Boy a fake stretch goal instead of promising a full-team Teen Titans base game? That's dishonest-low even by CMON standards.

It wasn’t a stretch goal though as there was no dollar total needed to reach to get it. It was a “daily promo”, which is just CMoN’s way of trying to maintain interest in the campaign all the way through.

I agree that it is dumb making one of the Teen Titans not part of the initial set, so it’s a bit of a fake daily promo, but CMoN have has core components as stretch goals for most of their Kickstarters, so them doing that with Beast Boy is hardly surprising.

Most retail American family games are 2-4 players. Include all five in the box, and some parent's gonna cry out why you can't play with five players (because his kid invited four friends over today). Costs more to develop a game for 2-5 players than 2-4, plus they're gonna put another component in the box for retail, which would increase base game prices. Hobby boardgames are already expensive compared to other family games and non-game toys. (Cryptozoic already puts out a TTG game that's half the price of the CMON game.) You'll also note that there are no coop rules, which would further cost game development and component cost.

Now, was omitting BB a good idea? Well, it does mean CMON can put out an expansion to get more money -- just like how the rest of the publishers will break up a game into a base game and expansion because marketing convention says you have to keep the base game to such-and-such a price, or fewer units will be sold. You've probably heard of "Settlers of Catan"... <_<

Yeah, since this one doesn’t really have stretch goals and you are vaguely interested, you would be better clicking remind and seeing what is part of the package at the end. Iirc they have done this with a few of their smaller kickstarters.

Yep, that’s exactly what I did. I’ll pick my final pledge, if any, in the pledge manager.

This is the Bones 5 Information Thread.

In an effort to reduce confusion by people seeking information and asking on topic questions, we are creating two threads for our Bones 5 Kickstarter.

This is the thread for information and questions.
This thread will be moderated to ensure forum rules are followed.
Posts of chatter and enthusiasm will be relocated to the Enthusiasm and Commentary Thread. https://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/89441-reaper-bones-5-enthusiasm-and-commentary-thread/
