@Ambrousisyou've helped me realize my current painting station is way way way too cramped and disorganized.  Time to revisit how my space is going to look and feel.

Video to follow in weeks to come.

@billeecats I had the same feeling of what have I done when I first opened the big box, then again when I started putting together the core set. I'm certain I'll feel that way again when the next kickstarter for minis shows up, but thats not til next April so I've got a while. I also backed one for base toppers and quality brushes, those two are supposed to be arriving sometime next month.

@R2ED I have to keep things organized, I have OCD issues with organization. My boss loves it, cause it helps to keep the cooler at my store looking nice. I would have taken up more space if I could in the garage, but its not just my garage and we are still cleaning it up.

@Ambrousis I feel that. I got the ReaperCon mega bundle, so whenever that arrives, I'll feel this twinge again, but then I'm not allowing myself to buy any more minis for a while.

On a different note, I love seeing others painting spaces. My current painting area is a folding table in our guest room, which is already too cramped because it has my desk for work as well (I work full time from home). We're hoping to move to a bigger home early next year, when I'll finally get an actual office, and some dedicated space for painting. I have so many ideas around how I'll organize that, but it's an evolving plan, and seeing what everyone else does with their painting spaces is great inspiration.

Tonight will be my first time painting in a while. I am going to do some highlighting on a group of Pathfinder goblins that I started a while ago and then abandoned.  For the most point they have all been basecoated and I am going to hit them with my new goblin flesh recipe.  Then finish off weapons and torches and such.

From some of the other pictures I've seen of the gem dragon it looks like the base is somewhat hollow, I've got some ideas on LEDs for it and the loot golem. I'll know better once they show up.

The base is in two parts; the top part is hollow, and slots into the bottom part:

Wait a minute... am i the only one left in this group who has not received bones 5 yet?  Please tell me this is not the case.

I have 2 giant boxes arriving from Reaper tomorrow as well! I don't actually know whether it's my pledge, my minis for the classes I'm teaching at ReaperCon, or both, but one thing's for sure:

Got my shipping notification last night! ARRIVES WEDNESDAY!  I might be the last one to get it in this group, but I can't wait to get started. I have to clean up the workstation from its current chaotic state when I get off work, and organize a bunch of foam I found for terrain projects. I wasn't expecting to stumble on 6 full sized sheets of that pink foam stuff and it's taking up more storage than I'd like. Also gotta figure where to put that pirate ship.....

OSL effect.  Trying to make it look like he's lit from the campfire.

Here we go! It's time to finally give me time to this OSL thing.  I saw this model and thought it'd be perfect to do as if this bugbear snuck up on a group of adventurers over their campfire.
I'll try to base this guy with a camp fire below him.
      How's he look?

      Here's him from the under-side:

Still needs some basing, but he's off to a good start.

      Interesting how this worked out.
I did dry brushing on the first two layers of greens.
Then went back in with regular brush and layers, but didn't think it was loud enough.  What this?  A huge stock pile of BCA pink?  Better put it to use.  I mixed that into the alien green and base, then touched it up with pink to add some warmth (i mean as warm as aghast should be #dead) in the highlights.  Pink and green were a fun combo.
I'm not totally into the tattered shirt colors the more i look at it.  I may need to use a wash over it, which i try to avoid, to add some dirt/grime look to it.  It's too clean and vibrant. But hey, i did layer nicely. Win.
I wasn't sure about the facial features.  I ended up just touching it up with a little green yellow for discoloration around the mouth, but seems like he still needs something.
Next thing i need to do is make a fun base for him.  Something Halloween feeling for sure.  Thanks @Reaper_Jonfor the ghoulie bags and free minis.  Putting them to good use.

This little guy is just a background piece so i wanted him to be simple.  I picked his color scheme to use red and green.  Someone mentioned to try shading green with red so i thought, why not?   His tunic is green shaded with red.

Testing a new style of painting with the deep shading around the eyes (because i wanted to be lazy... don't judge me).
      Would love your feedback.

Normally i wait to post show off once I'm done basing.  In this case, I was just using it to test some colors.
Using the color wheel, i picked a triad i tight was fun.  I figured this gross figure needed a green belly.  From there i looked at what made up the triad: orange and purple.  Challenge accepted.
I took the green bottom and touched it up with a hint of purple.  Then took the orange and did the same on top. I noticed the orange didn't take to showing the detail well, so i added a hint of yellow in the mix and it helped contrast the shaded spots.  Still wanted more.   Made a light wash of that purple and filled in the sections and gaps in the chitin.  Worked well.
For a three color combo it sure does look weird, but also some how works.  I'm digging this color theory thing.

      Here's the progress photos.
