I think the numbers on our sheet are just off by 4. For example, the core set numbering starts at 1005 instead of 1001. It should be easy enough to fix. I can do that.

@R2ED thanks! That's interesting about the Ashen Brown, I havent tried it yet but I have high hopes since it is a recreation of the highlight color to my all time favorite brown, Volcano Brown. I wanted to use it on my pirate ship, will have to test it out first. The pain of missing out on the brinewind extras sloop is tangible right now, haha!

I've got the reaper to finish this weekend, and the stag, which is now basecoated. I'm experimenting with the stag. It'll either turn out cool or awful, and I'm not sure yet which.

Its going to be a bit longer before I can post any finished items, its been too warm to paint in the garage so I'm installing an AC.

Who is painting what for the month of August? I am thinking of painting the monument with the spiders or the vampire ruins. It depends on how much grey paint I have. I am almost out of a bottle of Americana french blue grey. It is the same paint I used on the Dragons dont share ruins. Since I want the vampire ruins to match those. I will probably start with that. The one with the spiders would kind of fit in, but probably doesnt need to match the other pieces. I am thinking it would be useful for a game like Rangers of Shadow Deep as a stand alone piece. The bridge could also be a different color/texture than what I have been using.

@buckyballhey, dude check out the earlier posts.  

 

What we have been doing is picking 2 models each week to complete.  You can do one or both, your choice.  We start on Monday and go through Sunday.  This week it was the book keeper and the basilisk. (See above example) 

 

For this upcoming week, the person who finishes theirs (not me) gets to pick the next two models.  We will do August like this and then change things up a little in September. 

 

Think you can knock out the bookkeeper or the basilisk? If you do it first you get to pick for the group.  Although, if your want to paint your selections, you could.

And to add real quick to that, we're a bit staggered, because not everyone started on the first two models last week. For example I started work on the grim reaper, and will finish him and the stag this weekend, and then start work on the bookkeeper and the basilisk. I probably won't be done with those two until next weekend. 

 

In other news... Most of my time today was spent cleaning my office. My painting area is a little makeshift, but it'll do for now. 

The two bins under the painting desk are all my Bones 5 minis...

@billeecats i didn't even intend for both models to be finished each week.  Just kind ofkindhoice of this or that for variety.  Call me crazy, but i like to do them both. 

 

Also i noticed on that picture the gloves, but no airbrush.  Do you paint with gloves on all the time? What is that grid in your wet palette? 

 

So interesting for me to see how people work, what they have to work with, and tools they use.

I usually wear a glove on my left hand, and use that hand as a test bed to check the thinness of my paints. 

 

The grid on my wet palette is a silicon trivet, that I sometimes use as a palette when I'm painting only for a short time. It's acts as a makeshift well palette in a pinch. Here's a pic of what it looks like right now. 

 

 

My airbrush is a tiny little portable thing, if you zoom in you can see the top of it behind my brushes. (Yes I have a lot of brushes, not all of them are great, and some are totally untouched.)

 

My back is complaining after all the cleaning around the house I did today, so I only painted for a little while tonight. Here's progress on the reaper, he's getting close to done, but I am not happy with the hourglass, so I'll tinker with that a bit.
