Book Club, but for minis - Reaper Club?

Yeah, COVID restrictions pretty much put an end to my weekly exercise routine, too.  I've been meaning to get back on it but, eh... you know.

Meanwhile I've been doing stairs several times a day to get that terrain primed... 😄

I know this is paint club and all, but i had something i wanted to add to it.  Over the last two years with the pandemic and all, i had been severely thrown off my physical game. Painting and hobby work was my replacement for that time.  A downside to the hobby versus the gym is how sedentary it is.  I've felt less than fit lately and needed a change. I'm trying to put in at least 3 workouts per week (average) to balance my sitting time.  I'm about 3 weeks in and trimming down steadily, but have a ways to go.

Sitting all day takes it's toll. I have increased my pilates workouts to 3 times a week most weeks. But what I really need is to walk more.

That and core basics. DH and I were doing ok with the walking until Reapercon and then we quit, partly due to the summer heat.  We need to get back into that routine.  Meanwhile, I've got joint damage and a set of therapist-recommended exercises I've been slacking off on.  Got to set up the resistance bands again.

I didn't get to paint, but i assembled about 50 gw minatures.

I love these skeletons.

Those skels look awesome! Much nicer than anything from GW I ever painted.

I got a box from Reaper with the vampire and witch that came out this month, so I might give one of those a shot before halloween.  And my magnets came, so I can start on the terrain I've been unpacking and spray priming.

@tommyzollathanks!  I'm not actually sure i like it, but i think the camera is giving it a better look than in person.  I did it in two parts.

First covered the blue steel with a sepia wash.

Second mixed a orange brown into a dab of sepia and started to stipple it on.

I tried to use just the steel to highlight and bring back some of the metal, but kind of overdid it. You can see it on the sword

Thanks, it's heavy for sure - but it works spot on for the undead! Very cool. Tbh though I was hoping you'd say "oh, it was x GW technical paint" so I could grab a pot today and get that effect easily 😅

Used them on about 10 different applications and just don't do well with them.  It's not my style of painting.  I've seen some amazing things done with them, but sadly it's not my bag.

Since this is paint club, feel free to post any of your work.  Always good to see what you're up to.

Here's mine today.
