I'm hoping the figures will continue to be available after the event. I like several of them, scattered across boxes.  I can take a hard pass on another  plastic cup, stickers, pen, badge, and patches, though.  I'm feeling kind of indifferent to the paints. They seem muddy to me.  DH is probably going to get the Punk Box.

This could be moved to general, but since it part of the VE swag:

Is there foam under the plastic tray & what exactly is the dead space in the center used for (main purpose anyways)

Also, one more question: Is there any way to get the badge without getting the box? Like a separate purchase or something?

Edited to show that this is just a regular release this month.

There isn't foam underneath the "paint frame"; only above it.  It's probably a good idea to glue the paint frame to the box.

The dead space is sort of like a hobby junk drawer.  It can be a small wet palette.  You can keep zap-a-gap there.  Or candy.  Or whatever else might fit there.

Looks like the same case as the ReaperCon paint set came in.  I agree with @mikem91 that it is a good idea to glue the paint frame to the box since it is a bit loose. But, I just used a bit of poster tac on the contact points in case I needed to remove the frame to clean the case.

My main use for the case is travelling.  I put a few minis in the "dead space" and whatever paints I plan to use in the rack.

I got the foam version in mine, so the plastic tray is new to me. I thought about getting it just to try out the tray. I generally don't travel with paints (gasp, not even to ReaperCon!! ) but if the tray works out, it might work as storage at home (ie all the Virtual Expo paints in one box, etc etc).

I wonder which of the paints will be generally available afterwards?

I'm thinking they will all be available afterwards.  First to sell off any excess stock, but at least 12 of the paints are boxed as Fast Pallets, which tells me they will be available long term.  The others are also part of a new SKU series, which implies a new product line and will probably be available long term.

I'm hoping to grab the plasma triad and maybe the 75mm figure.. I sort of wish they would try 75mm figures in Bones USA so maybe they would make more of them..

The plastic tray is interesting.  I'm not sure I'd use the storage part unless i found something that had a lid for that.. you're giving up 4 paint slots from the foam insert

Yes, the storage tray is really flimsy, about like on a blister pack and has no lid.  I replaced it with a plastic box I found at Dollar Tree (pack of 3 for $1).  It fits the opening perfectly.  It isn't as tall, but I put a thin foam sheet under it and it works fine.
