Tuesday, March 9: What's worse, peanut butter in the jelly jar or jelly in the PB jar?

Sounds like a horrific Froggcident in the making, if not full-on HERESY.

Seriously though, I use a clean utensil for nut butter (usually sunflower seed) and for jam so cross contamination never happens.

This ^ always ^ This.

............They both go on the same sandwich.

I remember the purple ketchup. Tried it once, it tasted off. It was a huge flop that didn't last long. As for glitter ketchup, that is obviously yet another one of evil W.O.O.F. machinations.

Who knew @Glitterwolf was a shapechanger

Definitely, peanut butter in the jelly jar but I totally agree with everyone on "USE 2 KNIVES!!!" method.

This is an American thing, right?

I don't eat PB and Jelly on the same sandwich.

Now Jam ( strawberry, forest fruits or cherry)  and Hagelslag ( I prefer the dark chocolate kind)  on one sandwich, THAT is awesome.

PB anywhere in the house (2 children allergic, one unknown)

However when I could have it cross contamination of any type is bad, so use 2 (or 3 if you add butter/margarine as well) Knives!

Cross-contamination of either is an unforgivable sin.

But really, JUST USE TWO KNIVES!!

Or a spoon for jelly, so it won't keep falling off as you get it out of the jar.

Yes, I use spoon for jelly and knife for peanut butter. Leave it to Froggy to come up with a goofy question

I don't know, I'm a compulsive knife cleaner so no chance of cross-contamination here.

I used to love that stuff! It never caught on in Britain though so they didn't sell it for long

I love these philosophical questions. This one is up there with The Great Toilet Paper question.

It ultimately doesn't make much difference to me. Either way the alien substance would be spooned up and eaten before making The Sandwich...I have never had to share my peanut butter.

... peanut butter in the honey jar should not happen.

Either clean your knife, or use a seperate utensil for each. Sheesh.

(I don't do pb&j. PB&H is good, or.. mmh.. peanut butter and banana sandwich... cold, thank you... )

I almost never eat such a combination, but if I did I would have to wonder how the PB got into the jelly.  After all, it is in a squeeze container...

With honey drizzled on it... perhaps a bit of granola on one side of pb (because both sides should have pb for such a sandwich).

I mean they are just as bad.  Being that i am normally the maker of said sandwich itndoesnt happen often.  Tje proper assembly order is: PB on on piece of bread, wipe knife on clean bread, add jelly to second piece of bread.  Then knife is hand washed and place in dishwasher (eldest has a minor peanut allergy).

The rules: as they were last month (in addition to all regular forum rules) except where I sneakily changed them:

      1. Every day, or so (unless I am out or ill or something) I will post a question. †
1.5. Should I be unable to post a question for the day, a crack team of deputy quisitors, former quisitors, and random forum members are all chomping at the bit to step in and post one... ††
      2. In theory there is a 24 hour span to answer that question before the next question is posted.
2.5. (Rule 2 is the most frequently ignored rule.)
      3. Questions are going to be posted sometime before 1 AM Reaper time (US Central).
      4. Everyone is encouraged to suggest future questions to be posted via PM to Talespinner or Morihalda…
      5. You do not have to answer every question to play...
      6. If a question is TMI or N/A simply wait for the next question.. ..or post that you decline to answer (clues regarding why can be fun...unless TMI).
      7. Weekend questions may take the form of two or three day quests, starting on Friday or Saturday.
      8. Pix always welcome.

The first question will need to be posted after a brief (10 minute) pause to foil the merging of posts.
The footnotes, because I can't resist doing †††footnotes:

      † I will aim for 0600 Reaper/Nottingham time.
††  If subs and backstops could wait until 11AM in Reaper/Denton's timezone to see if I remember.
      ††† …because I re-remembered how to do the dagger ( † ) symbol.
