Friday, March 12: What is your favorite weather to see? Would you want to be outside at the time?

Weekend Quest: Take a photo of the weather!

I like spring and fall, when it’s sunny, but cool, so you can go outside and enjoy the fresh air, but not be roasted or frozen into a popsicle.

Today is a good example.

Unseen in this picture, the cool breeze.

I'm one of those people who loves the rain. Cool, grey, /just/ damp ... my kind of weather. I'm not blinded by the nuclear death orb in the sky, and it's cool enough to work, if I need to.

If I don't have to deal with it, I do like the snowy weather; enough to do a blanket and make everything look serene is very nice scenery, provided I don't have to  go out in it, and can be curled up in a chair inside with a mug of tea- or cocoa - a cat and a book. I don't get that very often.

These aren't my current weather, but they're half-decent pictures of what I think of as 'good den weather'.

Not taken the same day; the grey one was taken in 2017, the blue in 2019.

Well, it was partly cloudy and about 65F here today, which is pretty good for most purposes.  I enjoy dramatic weather (blizzards in particular) if I don’t need to go anywhere away from home. But today was the first 60+ day this year that I didn’t have to sit starting at my office computer, so I pulled my bike down off the rack, pumped up the tires, and went for a ride.  While that was mostly for the pleasure of being out, I also returned books to the library and stopped to replenish my artisanally roasted coffee supply.   I can tell I’ve softened up over the winter. ::P:

I actually like seeing it snow. It just seems that the world is much more peaceful. I enjoy it right up until people start goofing it up with plows and snowblowers and whatnot. It's pretty before that. After, not so much.

I don't mind being outside while it's snowing, especially if I have a covered porch with a nice chair to sit into watch it.

I'm going to be all girly and say rainbows. I like thunderstorms, but who doesn't smile when they see a rainbow? I like to be outside then, you get the rain smell and I still haven't given up trying to find the pot of gold. My friend once claimed she did find the end of the rainbow, and it glowed like gold. How beautiful that would be, if it were in fact true.

You don't want to see the weather here. It's boring, grey spring weather.

I love the spring. Sunny but not unbearably hot. A nice breeze. Smell of blooming flowers

SO I got my walk in the rain today. I resisted doing my Singing In The Rain routine, AND I spotted the first flowers of Spring:

They are a bit more deeply lilac than the photo would lead you to believe.

Wild geraniums in a patch of thistle, if I had to guess.

Cold, wet, and generally miserable.

I scrolled back in the camera roll to find these pictures of weather. Phone and I have not poked our noses outside for the whole weekend.

I have been photographing the weather for quite some time so an easy quest, unless it needed to be current weather. In that case... alas.

Monday, March 15: Did you have a favorite teacher in school? What did you like about them?

My grade 2 teacher was a very kind-hearted young lady, and she was always compassionate and patient person (except for the time that she duct taped a kid's mouth, but he had been asking for it). I met her a couple of decades later when she had car trouble by the farm when I was there, she didn't age one bit.

Beware the Ides of March!

That text string Put.Up.A.Fight. …but I made it turn into Inquisitional Bold in the end.

5th Grade Teacher was alright.

8th grade History Teacher was fun.

Mrs. Alexander from grade five was simply the best teacher in that school, she made school fun.

Mr. Stokes from grade eight taught History and Supervised Home Room. In history: he covered wars more thoroughly than most did. He told us war stories. Because he was teaching wars he had lived through. In Home Room he encouraged model rocketry; we got to go outside and watch them launch. It was like recess, but with rockets!!

The rules: as they were last month (in addition to all regular forum rules) except where I sneakily changed them:

      1. Every day, or so (unless I am out or ill or something) I will post a question. †
1.5. Should I be unable to post a question for the day, a crack team of deputy quisitors, former quisitors, and random forum members are all chomping at the bit to step in and post one... ††
      2. In theory there is a 24 hour span to answer that question before the next question is posted.
2.5. (Rule 2 is the most frequently ignored rule.)
      3. Questions are going to be posted sometime before 1 AM Reaper time (US Central).
      4. Everyone is encouraged to suggest future questions to be posted via PM to Talespinner or Morihalda…
      5. You do not have to answer every question to play...
      6. If a question is TMI or N/A simply wait for the next question.. ..or post that you decline to answer (clues regarding why can be fun...unless TMI).
      7. Weekend questions may take the form of two or three day quests, starting on Friday or Saturday.
      8. Pix always welcome.

The first question will need to be posted after a brief (10 minute) pause to foil the merging of posts.
The footnotes, because I can't resist doing †††footnotes:

      † I will aim for 0600 Reaper/Nottingham time.
††  If subs and backstops could wait until 11AM in Reaper/Denton's timezone to see if I remember.
      ††† …because I re-remembered how to do the dagger ( † ) symbol.
