Monday, March 15: Did you have a favorite teacher in school? What did you like about them?

Tom, who taught Russian and World History. He also taught me that I knew more than I thought I did; and if I didn't it was ok to make s#*t up.

John, who taught an entire quarter on Edgar Allen Poe and always had hot water in his room for tea or coffee.

Peggy who had swamp water aquariums in her class windows. One day she called me out for not paying attention to her lecture, I explained I was watching a hydra bud and she told me to carry on just get notes from someone after class.

Judy knew that I already knew how to sew so she just let me work on my own project while she taught the group to thread a machine etc... she also skipped her own class once to go out to lunch with me.

Yeah, that was a great school. :)

Mr Binder, my 5th grade history teacher. He kinda looked like Paul Drake from Old Perry Mason tv show but I really like him. He was the only teacher I actually did assignments in advanced (we followed a book).

While she wasn't my favorite, Ms Martinez my 1st grade English teacher was probably one of most important as she helped me along as I had a bit of troubles with the class. Where ever you, Ms Martinez, thank you!

I've been lucky in that I had a long line of really good teachers my whole academic life. Maybe two or three bad apples from Headstart through College.

They were all very instrumental in me becoming the person I am today, but I ask you not to hold that against them.

I ran into my 9th grade art teacher at an exhibit reception and apologized to her for being a terrible student. :D

Worse (and I didn't tell her this), despite her attempts to teach art to a younger me, the most benefit I got from her class was her maternity leave...they brought in a young college grad who asked a couple of us for project ideas. One of those ideas was 'album covers', and the fictional band my best friend and I drew became an actual band that summer and little did I know that the next decade and change of my life was plotted out. Weird quirk of fate!

Today’s Question seems a bit delayed...

Preview: The question for the 16th is one that was suggested by Talespinner (I know this because our current Quisitor left a list...) and if @Morihalda does not post it in another 45 minutes or so, I will get it posted — not to worry.

Tuesday, March 16: Are there any Kickstarters that you passed on, that you now regret not being a part of?

I want to say one or two, but in all honesty, not really.  Some I wish I had had more spare cash to put into, but I've steadily grown apart from the idea of Kickstarter just because I really really don't like waiting ages for things to come in, and hope no major changes wind up happening before they arrive.

In an abstract sort of way. I sometimes think, "Well I missed the boat on that one." Honestly though I'm in a downsizing phase again, so I'm fairly happy that I didn't add to the already prodigious amount of clutter.

Bones 4, for sure. I didn't know much about kickstarters then and just blew it off. I did back bones 5 and look forward to my goodies arriving... in the middle of canoeing season.

Desert of the Dead. I think it's a WOOF conspiracy, because everytime @Glitterwolf posts his projects, I get jealous! Seriously though, I love seeing him work through it.

Several of the early Stonehaven KS sets are missed.

Be it the original Dwarf set from before I understood what Kickstarter was, or their half-orc one where even with the reminder I totally forgot until it was too late.

They don't necessarily remake them in sets on their website, and since the costs have climbed dramatically in the past decade Kickstarter isn't the "deal of the century" offer it used to be.

Yes a few, and some that I did go in on and wish I hadn't.....

Often though, if they have a later KS you can get the earlier stuff as an add-on, I've done that a few times.

And the rest of the time, if it is something I really want, I'll track it down.  But usually I just look at my vast unpainted hoard collection and remember I probably wouldn't have gotten it painted anyway. ::D:

There were a few I regretted at the time, but now I can't remember what they were and it made no difference in the long run.

SMOG:- Rise of Moloch.

It was chock full of quirky steampunk goodness, but I just couldn't get over my dislike of how CMON does it's Kickstarters. I occasionally look for it on Ebay, but I always manage to talk myself out of getting it.

Not really,

There is so much out there that I can't print/paint it all anyway.

Now the other way around, maybe one or two that I had higher hopes for.

@Great Khan Artist thank you, always cool to hear people like my projects.

Forgive me for being a slow painter.

WOOF denies any involvement in enabling you all.

By the way did you see those sales on MMF???

starsaga I guess. It's not a huge regret, I eventually got the game and enjoy it it just would have been a lot cheaper to do the kickstarter than to hunt down the expansions. I had passed on it because I had at the time been mad at mantic for royally screwing up the casting in the last kickstarter I had backed.

The rules: as they were last month (in addition to all regular forum rules) except where I sneakily changed them:

      1. Every day, or so (unless I am out or ill or something) I will post a question. †
1.5. Should I be unable to post a question for the day, a crack team of deputy quisitors, former quisitors, and random forum members are all chomping at the bit to step in and post one... ††
      2. In theory there is a 24 hour span to answer that question before the next question is posted.
2.5. (Rule 2 is the most frequently ignored rule.)
      3. Questions are going to be posted sometime before 1 AM Reaper time (US Central).
      4. Everyone is encouraged to suggest future questions to be posted via PM to Talespinner or Morihalda…
      5. You do not have to answer every question to play...
      6. If a question is TMI or N/A simply wait for the next question.. ..or post that you decline to answer (clues regarding why can be fun...unless TMI).
      7. Weekend questions may take the form of two or three day quests, starting on Friday or Saturday.
      8. Pix always welcome.

The first question will need to be posted after a brief (10 minute) pause to foil the merging of posts.
The footnotes, because I can't resist doing †††footnotes:

      † I will aim for 0600 Reaper/Nottingham time.
††  If subs and backstops could wait until 11AM in Reaper/Denton's timezone to see if I remember.
      ††† …because I re-remembered how to do the dagger ( † ) symbol.
