I must know the answer that Conan ponders: the Riddle of Steel, lest Crom cast me out of Valhalla and laugh at me.

How does the Universe work?  That is one mystery, but as a student of Physics it is the big one.

Yeah, I'd like to know who the heck keeps spreading all these conspiracy theories!

Do we live in a simulation?  And, if so, how many iterations away from a non-simulated existence are we?  Also, is there a way to move up the simulation chain?

So many to choose from. I think I'll take one of the lost treasures, just in case it's real. I'm assuming that "the truth" includes the current location, if real... so I'll go with either Confederate gold or the Nazi gold train

The Pyramids of Giza. A fast time lapse video showing all details of construction all the way up through the (earthquake?) event that caused someone to dig a raggedy tunnel from the lower passage up toward the main gallery.

Mainly I want to see how all the stones were moved, transported, raised, and placed.

How do they get the caramel in the Caramilk bar?

Seriously, though, I'd like to know where the Ark of the Covenant is. I firmly believe it got taken up to Heaven, but lots of people think it's still on earth. Would I be dumb enough to look at it and be incinerated? Maybe I should choose another myth instead.

What uplifted humanity to consciousness. Natural process, intervention, cultivation, whatever.

I've always been fascinated by how one particular set of monkey-like scavengers managed to develop technology over a few millennia while not a single other organism managed it over billions of years.

What I would really like is a complete version of the history of the planet, particularly the rise of societies and civilizations. I've been ever more fascinated by the ideas of societal dead-ends deep into pre-history. Part of it comes from growing up in the Mohawk Valley, a true seat of western democracy...that was completely obliterated by invaders.

Is there actually such a thing as a non-simulated existence?

The names of all the stars, and of all living things, and the whole history of Middle-Earth and Over-heaven and of the Sundering Seas.

Unless we're talking about science stuff, I fear that any answer I receive will be very conventional and down to earth (or the result of human idiocy), therefore robbing me of further fantastic speculations.

I'm amazed a full page of answers and not one has said "the mystery that is my spouse" or such.  Many men find women and how they think to be mysterious.  Many women also find women mysterious as all sin.  Same for thoughts on guys.

Can't come up with much else, eerily enough, despite having a lot of things that would be lovely to know a lot more about.  I suspect for me it's because I love the process of the journey itself a great deal - I love road trips to nowhere in particular, for example.

We must learn the truth of the mystery of pants, those vile parasites that live among us.

Pants are a truly evil thing.  Good thing shorts are here to save us from such oppression!

The rules: as they were last month (in addition to all regular forum rules) except where I sneakily changed them:

      1. Every day, or so (unless I am out or ill or something) I will post a question. †
1.5. Should I be unable to post a question for the day, a crack team of deputy quisitors, former quisitors, and random forum members are all chomping at the bit to step in and post one... ††
      2. In theory there is a 24 hour span to answer that question before the next question is posted.
2.5. (Rule 2 is the most frequently ignored rule.)
      3. Questions are going to be posted sometime before 1 AM Reaper time (US Central).
      4. Everyone is encouraged to suggest future questions to be posted via PM to Talespinner or Morihalda…
      5. You do not have to answer every question to play...
      6. If a question is TMI or N/A simply wait for the next question.. ..or post that you decline to answer (clues regarding why can be fun...unless TMI).
      7. Weekend questions may take the form of two or three day quests, starting on Friday or Saturday.
      8. Pix always welcome.

The first question will need to be posted after a brief (10 minute) pause to foil the merging of posts.
The footnotes, because I can't resist doing †††footnotes:

      † I will aim for 0600 Reaper/Nottingham time.
††  If subs and backstops could wait until 11AM in Reaper/Denton's timezone to see if I remember.
      ††† …because I re-remembered how to do the dagger ( † ) symbol.
