Leech
Under this example, you just don't bother rolling for TL... just roll for attack and then roll for defensive fire. Cuts out one of the die rolls for a ranged attack. And with Chrome's -1 modifier, anything which needs the pilot (including the actual shot) would suffer a -1 (-1 to attack and -1 to defend against defensive fire). Chrome, did you envisage this -1 modifier staying until the model's next activation or just that one shot?
wolf
Now that's a better reworking of your idea Matt. Nice touch there Chrome with the -1 mod for actions(attack/defense). It still sounds like a scenerio rule though, since we don't have times when only the pilot is running the show. Unless this is for those CAVs that have only the pilot in them. Chrome
Chrome, did you envisage this -1 modifier staying until the model's next activation or just that one shot?I'd say until his next activation. It's a tough call really, but with a turn only representing 4 seconds, I can't really see the pilot taking control of the weapons systems, lining the torso up for the shot and taking it, all without effecting what any other models may be doing to him in the same turn. It still sounds like a scenerio rule though, since we don't have times when only the pilot is running the show.It still applies to those times when the player doesn't want to use the negative modifer for his TL system though. Unless this is for those CAVs that have only the pilot in them. There aren't any of those anymore. lol I've got a scenario to run tomorrow, I'll try this out. I think I'll throw in Full Speed too, that'll make things interesting since one side's objective is to escape off the far side of an 8' table. Chrome
Question: Should the Pilot's skill level be added into the damage resolution roll? It only makes sense that an Ace would be able to line up the shot better than a Veteran would.
Leech
Hmm, that's a good question. And I think, the answer should be yes. It does stand to reason I suppose. And in the scenario I did earlier tonight, I used the Nigh Flying and Full Speed rules. Both were well recieved although I did find that IF was used far too much... we only had 4 kills the entire game :o( Still, this is a nice one... I can see using this in the future, especially since I like the Rhino and the other designs which have negative modifiers for TL.
nadinbrzezinski
Matt that definitely works... very well indeed. Happy pondering over the weekend! Nadin
