Skeleton Horde

Hello everyone, here's what I painted last week, a Skeleton Horde by Games Workshop / Citadel Miniatures from 1986. I mounted them on 25mm base and converted a few of them. I used remaining parts from other minis and changed some shields, skulls and weapons. I also printed two army trays to be able to move them more easily and change their arrangement on the game table. There's 16 skeletons in total and I intend to use them during future D&D games.

Good looking unit. I like how you got variety in them, but still kept them as a cohesive unit.

I love the verdigris/rust on the equipment and the grass so they look like they just came out of the ground.

You managed to both paint a wonderful, perfectly damaged and worn skeleton company and warm my nostalgic gaming memories... ah citadel minis... Love the tufts of grass...

Very well done.  This was still the best box of skellies that GW ever did.  All of the newer ones became chunky.

I'm glad you like them. I had these skeleton in a box for about 20 years and decided to resurrect them for my D&D games. Leisynn the necromancer I painted last year will raise them to fight against the adventurers. Some of them were already painted, so I may have lost some detail on a few of them. They were a lot of fun to practice rust and verdigris effect.

Great looking skeletons! Now that's what a skeleton horde should look like. It's nice to see people put that amount of work and effort into figures that will be played with. I also love how you have grass hanging from them in some areas. I'm going to have to steal that idea from you.

Thanks @Disemboweler. It's always nice to have well painted models even on the game table. I have done my best to paint them to an interesting level without going overboard. I had the idea of adding grass to some spots to illustrate that they just came out of the ground, I'm glad you like the effect.
