Thanks for your comments,

I had the exact same thought regarding the appearance of the giant. The left head really looks like the typical neanderthal representation we see in history books, primitive and brutal.

As for the skin, I picked grey after reading the ettin description in the D&D Monster Manual; an ettin never bathes if it can help it, which usually leaves it so grimy and dirty its skin resembles thick, gray hide.

I really like the grey skintone and the base - well done!

I was going to comment on the skin, too. after reading your reply to Iridil, I'd say you nailed it!:winkthumbs:

This is Miguel Zavala's redesigned Umber Hulk, printed on my Mars Pro and painted with Vallejo acrylics.

It's a monster I haven't used much, if at all, in my own campaign, but my favourite character of old, Sir Fnord the Pretty Neat died of them twice, both times by having his head ripped clean off.

Hello everyone! With Halloween at the door, it promises to be a very colorful month. Here's 01545, Punkin' Headed Bugbear sculpted by Jason Wiebe. This Special Edition Miniature was originally available only at the 2014 Reaper Artist Conference. It was later release under sku: 04044. The base is a 74024, 40mm square plastic base.

I've been slowly (very slowly) working my way through some of the larger non-humanoid figures in my collection.  This one took me about  a year to complete, mostly because of the wings. I haven't figured out how to do the translucent effect yet, but I'm getting closer.

Presenting the Frost Giant Heroine from Reaper.

Not my best work, I'm still not great at getting all the mold-lines off these PVC minis, plus I was painting her to help work through some issues I was having so she's a bit on the rough and basic side.
Was still a lot of fun to paint up though, I'll have to get the other one done now.

As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.

Love these little guys, they are so cute and evil looking at the same time.  This is the Bones version.

I previously did two metal homonculi, who will be happy to have a new pack member.
