Replacing Vallejo paints!

Hi folks, since lately it has been very hard to find Vallejo Model Color paint. So I would like to replace the Model Colors with any Reaper Paints.

So what would be the closest match for these Vallejo Model Colors:

Blue (052) 70.925

Red (033) 70.926

Ochre Brown (127) 70.856

I don't have 70.925 so I'll have to guess with that one from online swatches (which may not be accurate) but it looks like these would be the contenders:

For Red 70.926 this seems a good match:  https://www.reapermini.com/search/red/sku-up/89505   

 

It's probably the closest for intensity and hue, but I'd also advise searching for red in the webstore to see if you want to take your chances.  I have Vallejo flat red, not 926 but if those two are close to each other the 89505 should be very, very close to 70.926.

Vallejo is a Spanish company. Spain has had a lot of hard-mode lock downs due to the pandemic, plus global shipping issues.  Add in a year of people picking up new hobbies. There have been several times this past year that I’ve had trouble finding Vallejo products in stock when I was looking to buy them, both in local stores and on Amazon, etc. 

For example, right now the Vallejo basic USA colors set is not available on Amazon. The first page of google results brings up one retailer listing it as “in stock,” but when you go to the page, it’s actually backordered. There is also one eBay listing, for $93, for the 16-paint set.

Hobby Lobby carries Vallejo, I forget which line. It may be Game Color.  But from the looks of it when I was in earlier this week, they are not able to keep the rack fully stocked either.

It's Model Color (their main hobby line). I think Game Color has too many non-Hobby Lobby names in it. ha ha

 

Yah, anything Vallejo is hard in re-stocking right now (prob due to the Pandemic). I know the Mecha Colors are very hard to find right now.
