Scoundrels of the Damned Ruins (Grimforge Miniatures)

A very fitting tribute to the classic days of Mordheim.  I'm glad they're doing both physical and STLs...I like to copy everything and mirror it when I print multi-part pieces to get more variety.

They've also got several add-ons of some of their existing conversion sets.

"Mighty backers, welcome to the second campaign by Grimforge Miniatures!

A difficult year has passed for all and we have worked hard on a lot of projects but the main project which has lead our work is to create a new range of multicomponent miniatures capable to give you the opportunity to assembly a lot of different warbands, an evolving  expandable system born to integrate old and new models and kit for the best kitbash you can imagine.

we have decide to keep the grimdark fantasy style full of citations from the 90's period and from the paint of artists like hyeronimus bosch.

We have also taken the big decision to release for the first time also a digital version of this kit to give everyone the opportunity to print their scoundrels at home.  So you have 2 options: traditional resin models or Stl files.

We have sculpted a complete multicomponent kit and we have a solid range of Stretch Goals to give you the opportunity to unleash your scoundrels during your games. All our miniatures are cast in Italy with high quality resin, the best way to give you miniatures as faithful as possible to the original sculptures. If you already know our models, you already have proof of the quality of our products. On the other hand, if this is your first experience with us then you are even luckier! in the last year we have improved the quality of our models and our efficiency so you will receive our best job!

here are the "Scoundrels of the damned ruins": mercenaries, treasure seekers, cutthroats... these are the scum who are ravaging the Damned Ruins and you will be able to assembly a warband in a lot of different styles, from pirate to landsknecht with a moltitutide of weapons and accessories."

They look interesting, though I'm a little put off by the dearth of non-weapon hands. Okay, actually, a lot out off. Physical tier will have to build at least 4 out of 10 figures as ambidextrous, which is absurd. How about a couple of different shields instead of too many weapons? It would make the STL offering better, too.

There's seven unarmed hands, the crossbow, and dual wield was king in Mordheim.

Huh? I see five empty plus the torch. The "fish" is actually a gun (like the fishy stretch goals), and I certainly hope the shield doesn't come with a hand attached, as that'd make the kit worse (less flexible) instead of better.

For purposes of using these in a semi-realistic low fantasy setting (where hardly anyone is ambidextrous), which they look absolutely great for, It's unfortunately a much better offer for STL buyers (who can just print extra unarmed hands and shields as needed) than as a physical kit.

5 fully empty, 1 torch, one Lantern, one shield.

We backed it, but they never reached the female warrior goal.

It never even showed up on the board.

Probably why it stalled, too. Great start, but they focused on things like fish guns.

It may be served best as a separate project if they plan on rescaling the weaponry and such.

Not entirely happy with Grim-forge.

Only three attempts to download lots of files, and a limited time to make the downloads. Each sprue a separate download.

And resuming a failed download is considered a new download - *EDIT* They responded quickly, and upped the number of download attempts.

Nope, the models may be nice - but I have better uses for the money, Grimforge is going to need something special before I consider them again.
