Quizzle for May 20: What was the first video game you played?

Not quite sure, but it was provably Pacman, Millipede, or Space Invaders for an arcade cabinet...  Probably something on Colecovision for console.

For game I remember?  Duck Hunt.

I'm going to alter my initial answer and say...

Ski-Free.  Was so much fun.

As was Tetris on the NES.  I couldn't stand theme A, I always played with theme B, which apparently was a Russian song of some description.  I just found it way easier to focus and get into a rhythm.

Not sure if it's the first game I played, but the only one I remember from my 80's Atari days is Manic Miner.

(It's also very possible that that wasn't an Atari game and I'm just very confused).

First ever might have been the Pac-Man arcade machine in the summer of '81 or '82 while we were vacationing in southern Maine. I only knew of the game through TV commercials, so my understanding of the game was incomplete.

First home console would've likely been a neighbors' Atari 2600.

Combat on the Atari 2600, if memory serves correctly.

They *did* own Combat, and I do remember playing it. As well as Pac-Man; Pitfall and Yar's Revenge (and other titles I forget).

From the release date of the games, and assuming they were Christmas gifts, I played them either during the '82 holiday season, or early 83'.

Probably one of the Super Mario Bros games for Nintendo at a friend's house, not sure.  We eventually got a Sega Master System (before the Genesis came out), which had a built in game called Alex Kidd in it; instead of jumping on enemies, you punched them. Otherwise it was the same concept as Mario.
