Quizzle for May 5th, What is your favorite line from a SCI-FI movie?

I'm not much for Sci Fi movies, but "Hold on to your butts" from Jurassic Park comes to mind.

Not to hijack today's question, but in the original film, Robert Muldoon, game warden, who was later cornered and killed by raptors, has a healthy respect for them. "They should all be killed.". Which is a great quote, BTW. Then in the new films Owen practically has Blue as a pet. How would the two of them get on if they met?

"Fire a warning shot across her nose." .... "Careful you idiot! I said across her nose, not up it!"

"So the combination is... one, two, three, four, five? That's the stupidest combination I've ever heard in my life! That's the kind of thing an idiot would have on his luggage!"

I don't really have one, but two come to mind.

First from Firefly:

Mal: "Mercy is the mark of a great man."
[stabs Atherton Wing]
Mal: "Guess I'm just a good man."
[stabs Atherton Wing]
Mal: "Well, I'm all right."

and

"No.. you can't eat my brain just yet. I need it a little while longer." (Kai from Lexx)

Who is the greater fool, the fool or the fool who follows him?

They were in the wrong place at the wrong time; naturally they became heroes.

Q. What do we do now!?

A. We die.

Greetings, Starfighter. You  have been recruited by the Star League to defend the Frontier against Xur and the Ko-Dan Armada.

It is good to have friends, is it not, Mr. Garibaldi? Even if maybe only for a little while?

'Your friend. Your love. Did you find her?'

I am no judge of human emotion, but I see his smile turn fragile and false. 'Yes,' he says. 'I did find her.'

-Reclusiarch Grimaldus to Andrej, Helsreach

This has always stood out to me because in a grimdark universe full of fell xenos and genetically enhanced super soldiers, there is still the spark of humanity alive in the normal people that live in it. Even if it is a sad moment.

Outside of ones that have already been mentioned:
Dark Helmet: Now you see that evil will always triumph, because good is dumb.

"Luke, I am your father." is my favorite line that was *never said* in the movie. Yet everyone knows it.

Note: It says Sci-Fi not Fantasy.  Star Wars is a Fantasy not Sci- Fi

First one that comes to mind that hasn't already been mentioned:

'Anyone else wanna negotiate?'

Beg to differ.

science fiction: fiction based on imagined future scientific or technological advances and major social or environmental changes, frequently portraying space or time travel and life on other planets.

Star Wars is fiction with heavy elements of science in it. Now, that doesn't mean it isn't also fantasy, but it is definitely science fiction.

Ah yes, good old DH. There is a reason why I bought a facemask with his A-hole quote on it. :poke:

Pretty sure these 2 are my favs, if not top 5:

Doc Brown to Marty:

“If My Calculations Are Correct, When This Baby Hits 88 Miles Per Hour, You're Gonna See Some Serious S***.”

Not really a quote, but a scene, but you can't leave any of this out:

[In a shooting range, confronted with numerous menacing-looking targets, Edwards shoots a cardboard little girl]

Zed: May I ask why you felt little Tiffany deserved to die?

James Edwards: Well, she was the only one that actually seemed dangerous at the time, sir.

Zed: How'd you come to that conclusion?

James Edwards: Well, first I was gonna pop this guy hanging from the street light, and I realized, y'know, he's just working out. I mean, how would I feel if somebody come runnin' in the gym and bust me in my broccoli while I'm on the treadmill? Then I saw this snarling beast guy, and I noticed he had a tissue in his hand, and I'm realizing, y'know, he's not snarling, he's sneezing. Y'know, ain't no real threat there. Then I saw little Tiffany. I'm thinking, y'know, eight-year-old white girl, middle of the ghetto, bunch of monsters, this time of night with quantum physics books? She about to start some s***, Zed. She's about eight years old, those books are WAY too advanced for her. If you ask me, I'd say she's up to something. And to be honest, I'd appreciate it if you eased up off my back about it.

[pause]

James Edwards: Or do I owe her an apology?

[pause]

James Edwards: That's a good shot though...

"Don't run. You must never run from an immortal; it only attracts their attention."

(There are actually a lot of lines from that movie..).

Close runner up; "How like you my gifts..?"
