Hello,

Is anyone already making badge ribbons with the text "Vaccinated"?

If not I thought I might. Can anyone recommend a printer that makes them reasonably?

That's a thought. NOt sure about HIPPA laws…..but I suppose if it's voluntary.

" VACCINATED "

Seems rather generic, frex: there are more things to be vaccinated against (german measles, tetanus, flu….) other than the particular CoronaVirus that first attacked humans in Wuhan. VACCINATED could refer to anything.

Maybe there is a more fun lighthearted? way to say it?

House Moderna

House Pfizer

House Oxford

House Jannsen

…those are the four main vaccines, it's been like being sorted into school houses.

Only, That would be four ribbons…

I'm pretty sure it means the obvious thing, and like all the ribbons it would be for fun only and completely voluntary.  Show your card, get a ribbon.  If you can't/won't/don't want to play the ribbon game, you're free to walk away.  There are plenty of other ribbons to collect.

I'm guessing a purple ribbon with a needle on it is probably going to offend somebody, or I'd suggest that.

I admit, if it was up to me, 'I got my shots!' would probably figure large, but... it's been suggested a few times that my sense of humour needs work. ;p

But the ribbon thing has always been an opt-in game; both for handing out and collecting; as Inarah rightly points out.

I find zero fault with your humor, esp. in this situation.

Our local health department gave us all buttons to wear saying "I got my covid-19 vaccine."  I plan to wear mine to Reapercon, and am happy to talk data and scope out the cdc website with anyone who wants! (even though I'm on 'vacation!') Oddly, I have not had the slightest desire to buy microsoft products... chocolate maybe... hmmmn...

If anyone is interested, the Dork Tower store is offering this in a variety of formats -- sticker, pin, button, patch, t-shirt, etc.

That won't fit a ribbon…

I think this idea is cute.

Regarding HIPAA, you can disclose whatever of your own personal medical information you wish to do so. There is no rule that you can't talk about your own health or medical treatments. What is illegal is for OTHER people, like your doctor or insurance company, to discuss your medical information without permission. This law specifically applies to health-related entities, though. Your friend can talk about your private medical information if they know it and not get into any trouble. And there's nothing prohibiting individuals or businesses from asking you questions, and you have a choice whether or not to answer. But none of that falls under HIPAA. Only health-related entities and only without your permission.

HIPPA has nothing to do with individuals or businesses asking for anything medical related, it is solely to do with hospitals and care providers only.
