With Games Workshop having sorted out whatever issues they were having with this, my enthusiasm has returned!

I'm determined to get at least a few more painted up before the expansions start coming out.

I heard they removed the Curse on the Cursed City. (My guess is that the new printing will have no mention whatsoever of any place once called Mournhold …)

IF I am correct, treat anything where that bit of Lore appears in print as the collectors item that it will become.

Looking forward to seeing it completed!

Thanks! It's going to be a while, he's covered in so much stuff!

Hadn't heard that theory.

Not sure we'll ever know what went wrong with the first release (GW definitely isn't going to say).

Got a bit more done.

Boots, gloves and hatband were done in Leather Brown > Brown Wash > Leather Brown > Leather Brown/Bonewhite, plus a Bronze arrow symbol on his hat.

Trousers next!

Seeing what you're doing with these is starting to tempt me into looking into picking up a box once it comes out, assuming this isn't going to be yet another fomo release.

I hope they don't do anything silly with the release, I want to get my grubby mitts on all the expansions!

Although you can't see them all I painted his trousers (Steel Grey > Black Wash), his armour (Pure Black/Oily Steel > Oily Steel > Black Wash > Oily Steel Drybrush) and part of his rifle and hammer (Pure Black/Gunmetal Grey/Oily Steel > Oily Steel Drybrush > Black Wash).

Now I've painted it though, I'm not sure he's wearing a breastplate, I think it's actually part of his coat or a tabbard. Going to have to give it some thought.

I compromised in the end by doing his breastplate, still as a breastplate but a leather one (Scarlett Red/Leather Brown > Scarlett Red/Leather Brown/Iraqi Sand > Brown Wash with Bronze buttons).

I also added an Aluminium highlight to his metal armour, and painted his steaks (Parasite Brown/Ochre Yellow > Brown Wash > Ochre Yellow drybrush > Sepia Wash).

Belts and pouches next I think.

Just picking up on all the posts I've missed over the last few months.

      Battle Report!
Turns out squigs are not just funny looking, they are funny to paint.  I loved these models and really found they took amazing to dry brushing. I was testing colors and layers.

      Highs:
      * dry brush was excellent.  Used some cheapo makeup brushes and they did great.
      * i used a purple glaze over orange and then built it up with orange further.  Looked good.
      *  blue came out great, but i don't know what layers to use on it to give contrast like the purple orange one.
*teeth are all solid and look good.
*skin folds are natural looking and added freckles on some are much better than expected.
      * the yellow one was testing out transparent paints and it went on like a dream.

      Lows:
*not too many complaints really.  These all came out more or less as expected.
      * challenged by how low they are to the base and getting them with ground effects.
*never painted mushrooms and wasn't sure how to go about it.

When the Space Pope absolutely needs someone to die very publicly and messily, he calls upon the services of a Mother Superior.
One woman armies with no regard for the collateral damage they cause, towns, cities (and, according to legend, the occasional planet) are reduced to ruins as the Mother Superior single-mindedly pursues her target.
Often the eternal struggle to protect Mankind from the Horrors that lurk beyond the stars requires subtlety, but occasionally, you want to send a stonking great message about the consequences of meddling with things you don't understand.

Presenting a Mother Superior (AKA Morvenn Vahl, a hero from Warhammer 40k's Sisters of Battle faction), a terrifyingly unstoppable force of divine judgement.

Bit of a mixed bag this one, I'm happy with a lot of it, but some bits could be better (like the terrible job I did on her face). At least she's finally done now.

Finished the Paint job on another marine.  I'll need to come up with a cool base.  I planned out this time black, red, yellow, blue colors.

Here's the first one of this set up.

      Here's the purebred.

Give me feedback.  If you'd like this black background let me know.

Wanted to continue working on my Underworld stuff, but didn't fancy the last two minis I had left in the previous thread, so thought I'd roll them into a new one.

This time we've got 10 randomly chosen minis, the two dudes from the last thread and the whole Sea Elf team (They felt too fragile to pack away after I built them).

Here we have Cyrille and Celine (A pair of Elven Peacekeepers) and Snoz a Goblin Scout with his wolf Fang.

This set consists of Zellotl (Lizardman Warrior), Freshly Awake (a newly risen Skeleton), Frilna (a companion beast to the Fey Elves), Sorcha (battle-hardened Mercenary) and Ailithir (Evil Knight).

Yrkill and Jafari (from the previous thread) plus their companions Sigmundur and Sethos (because someone or something is determined to have me paint these particular teams). Sethos isn't an Underworlds figure but is a matching Cultist from the OOP Warhammer Quest:- Silver Tower game on an old resin base I found.

And this is the Sea Elf team.
We've got Gaelin (he's a Fish), Tanjaya (the Warrior at the back), Indra (a Summoner), Surya (a Harpooner with no eyes) and Orym (he's a Crab).

      Making a start on Sorcha:-

Painted the furry collar on her cape.
It's a base of Cold Grey with a Black Wash and the drybrushes of Cold Grey, Ghost Grey and Off-white (Only on the upper shoulder bits).

Not sure if I should paint her head next or the armour that's close to it, either way I think I'll make a mess.

Presenting the Swamp Orc Standard Bearer, he's part of one of the newer factions in Games Workshop's Age of Sigmar range.

Really happy with this one and I had a lot of fun painting all his chunky detailing!
