I almost backed for ROME and JAPAN, but somehow the proportions of the humans seem a bit off?

They look like their legs are too long?

I'm in doubt, I like a lot of it, but something looks odd about them.

Is this just me or am I right?

Maybe a sculptor like @TaleSpinner can tell me if I'm right?

I'm not sure what it is, but the propotions look off to me as well.

It may be that they've been sculpted to realistic proportions, which just don't work for miniatures, but it definitely seems like the legs are too long and the arms are too short

I haven't plegded (yet) because of it.

I did ask and I got a response but not sure if this is enough to change my mind,

Petty, because I could use a Legendary Roman Set and Mythological Japanese stuff is always my thing.

@ratsmitglied

I asked them again and told them what you said.

They are friendly and all but it seems they will keep it this way.

Unfortunate, because I really would have wanted them if the proportions were right.

Even with 'realistic' proportions their legs and arms seem out  to me

Probably because you need to exaggerate the fine detail to get it to print, but then they haven't exaggerated the arms and legs to keep the look right

Victrix are known for having almost realistic proportions to thier plastics and they don't look out of whack like these do

There was also a comment from a guy who wrote historical books about Roman Legions etc.

It seems they are friendly in their answers, but it will not lead to changes.

It's all : we like how our models look and more like that.

There are enough people liking them to make the KS a succes so why bother making changes to attract even more buyers?

I'm not going in.

I don't mind realistic proportions - I do think they can work for minis. Look at some of Dark Sword's figures as examples.

The poses on these are really awkward and limbs aren't quite right. They remind me of Lego people with stiff joints.

I worked out why they look wrong - because they've exaggerated the detail on the armour, but the legs and arms have been kept at realistic sizes

So they look like 5ft people in armour designed for people who are 7ft tall

10 types and crews as add-ons

The award winning Rafm Miniatures Siege Equipment was first created in the 1980's. These miniatures have been in production for years but we need your help to retool them, and produce new moulds to continue selling the figures. With your help we can update these items for the modern era.
This Kickstarter offers eleven items including Bombards, Ballista and Catapults. These items were originally sculpted in 25mm scale but fit nicely with 28mm figures. See the Kickstarter video for images of the pieces in scale to 28mm Peasant Siege Crew sculpted by Bob Murch of Pulp Figures.
The All-In pledge will give you ten pieces of Siege Equipment for use in any miniature tabletop game. More items can be added to these offerings as we reach greater amounts and open stretch goals. The line has up to 40 different pieces that we can get retooled in this program. Join us and lets see how many of these items we can get retooled.
All figures are produced in unpainted scaled white metal. Available for use in multiple scales.

Very cool miniatures surrounding a new RPG system.

Before the known ages, the ancient gods, who were traveling through time and space, between galaxies and systems, between planets and moons, finally reached this small blue planet and its light gray moon. Millions of years ago, searching for the force on the dark side of this moon, they found the crystals that emitted enormous energy.

They took it with them and returned to the blue planet. With the use of the power from other dimensions they try to warp the crystal and use it for their own dark plans.
It quickly turned out that the crystal emitted too much power, a power that did not harmonize with the forces of the Ancient One. The symbiosis caused conflict and damage to the ancients. The warped crystal had been abandoned by them here... and for millions of years, it had lain, covered by layers of earth and sand in the darkness and silence...

      Hi.
Greetings from Andrzej (Ater), Jakub (MiniaturesArtTeam), and Pawel  (PJG_sculptor). For some time we were working together on something on the side which finally became a big miniature project. We plan to put it together in a board-battle game!

But let's take small steps and start gently. In our first project, we want to offer you some miniatures from the world which were shown to us in the dreams by one guy, who calls himself Cthulhu (we know... it is quite weird, but the dreams were really cool).

Inspired by these visions, we create a new universe in the dark, steampunk/dieselpunk climate. Now we want to show you our project and we cordially invite you not only to participate in the project itself but also to create it. Please, share your thoughts and opinions with us! Please come closer, sit down and hear a story about the Crystocracy.

I’ve backed their previous two Kickstarters and their stuff, while a bit simplistic, is quite excellent. Made in USA with all the minimal carbon footprint, etc.

The title is a bit misleading. The game is more of an immersive co-op miniatures game than a regular RPG. But I guess D&D started out as a miniatures game.
