AAARRRGGHHHHH.

I just had this conversation with the primary service tech at the manufacturer I contract to. This is a simplified version.

Him: Why is this Item showing in the pricing menu?
Me: Because the No Price Entry flag on the item is set wrong.
Him: Why is it showing that price?
Me: because that's the amount of the last transaction for that item.
Him: Well why is it showing in the pricing menu?
Me: Because the flag is set wrong. It should be set to ON.
Him: The flag is set to Off.
Me: Yeah, that's not right, I've been complaining about that being set wrong on new shipments for months.
(loop back to his initial question)

(repeat loop 3 more times)
Him: I honestly don't understand what this setting does.
Me: it determines if the item shows in the pricing menu.

(long pause)

Him: Oh...

Welp. Just ordered myself some dumbbells and a bench. Wish my fat broccoli luck in this latest attempt at reining in and preserving my disgusting, aging, weakened body.

Good luck!

I've already been calculating the number of hobby boxes/D&D books/winter coats the bench should hold so that it does get a little use at least. 😕

Often, the most traumatic moment in one's military career is the sudden, horrifying realization that you *are* the adult supervision.

The same goes for parenthood...

Looks like we're gonna need a bigger cake! One of our supermarkets sells this fine fellow :)

I think I need a part of that shark cake.  This week has been a major stress enducer and the physical side is even more fun.

Work is upsetting:  I have a boss trying to pull some less than scrupulous activities under the auspices of giving me what I want.

With the whole covid thing relaxing were expected to restart travel and my test trip did not go well (physically, mentally the trip was really fun and awesome)

Church activities are also returning and I for one have enjoyed watching church from bed in a nice shirt and rolling out of bed at 1030.  Having to get up at 8 for rehearsal is not a fun thought!

And then there is the physical issues.  I am very amazed at just how much a small skin ulcer can hurt!

Can you pass me a slice please?

Saturday's stroll through history for May 29th:

  • 1453 – Fall of Constantinople: Ottoman armies under Sultan Mehmed II Fatih captured Constantinople (now Istanbul) after a 53-day siege, ending the Byzantine Empire.

  • 1852 – Jenny Lind, a Swedish opera singer and one of the most highly regarded of the 19th century, departed New York after her two-year American tour.

  • 1919 – Albert Einstein's theory of general relativity was tested (and later confirmed) by Arthur Eddington and Andrew Claude de la Cherois Crommelin.
